Prorated Gem Cost on Gifts?

I'd like to purchase/gift the volatile magic tools bundle for a friend. They already have one of the tools they bought a while back. Will the gem store prorate my cost for the one they already have?

There is no way your friend has only "one" unless you mean he has another infinite tool.

You're indeed buying them all 3 infinite tools with the 3 corresponding glyphs and skins, and gem price won't go down because your friend doesn't own any of these 3 tools.

It is possible to have a single skin if you use statuettes to get one when they are available (if they ever where). You can also get the glyph from the TP. You pay for all 3 tools and get all three since its used on a character level. Unlike LS season packages where you get a discount for having partial account content.

That only works if OP's friend has statuettes and gets the tools themselves. I don't think you can gift tools bought with Statuettes -- they're probably account-bound on acquire.

Volatile and Unbound gathering tools never go on sale with statuettes. Only individual infinite gathering tools do.
