Avengedeath.4671
Has anyone done the math? If you have both camps with packed or speedy yaks, what is the minimum amount of time needed to waypoint hills. Just curious since hills hardly ever gets a waypoint anymore by the home team. Dawdler.8521
It upgrades slightly slower than bay since the south dolly take quite a detour (north should be roughly same as bay I think, maybe a little longer too). But thats obviously not the problem, because you dont have speedy and packed dollys. The right hand side of alpine is the easiest to control the camps on for attackers, because you can get there completely unnoticed with its hills and back path, unlike the left hand side where you are completely open and visible from bay. In addition the SE tower is much closer to the dolly path making it easier for those that hold it to keep control over dollys. The SW tower is way off in comparison with the SW camp and those holding bay are within defensive range as soon as the dolly reach the sentry. There has been no changes. If the home team barely gets a waypoint anymore, its the fault of the home team. Since people say roaming is dead it cant possibly be roamers involved. So blaim your zergs. Elknif.1805
If both camps are owned, no sentries to slow them down, no speedy or packed, none are killed, it's about 3.5 hours.

Sviel.7493
Without Speedy Yaks, Hills upgrades in 140.1 minutes. With Speedy, that gets cut roughly in half. With Packed, it's cut in half and possibly more if someone is giving the Yaks Swiftness or Superspeed.Compare to Bay which upgrades in 105.2 minutes. On DBL, the East Keep (Hills sub) upgrades in 195.4 minutes and the West Keep (Bay sub) upgrades in 165.1 minutes.I'll attach a cheap graph with all of the other times as well. http://puu.sh/FPLvd/375d762392.pngEDIT:And here are the Yak Timers for Hills and Bay.NWC to Bay - 2:49SWC to Bay - 1:04NEC to Hills - 3:37SEC to Hills - 1:
saerni.2584
It’s complex because I think the south camp is easier to defend on east side and harder to defend north side. Hills has a longer distance to cover so you can get more out of speedy yaks. Bay you get more out of packed yaks with the escort from SWC being very short. Personally, escorting yaks is pretty easy if you bother with it.

Packed dollies = 100& faster. => 140 minutes /2/1.8 = 38 minutes. Compared to Pre-HoT this time is like 10 times faster... I think it is time for Anet to increase dolyaks Keeps require to 40/80/160 (twice as much) and Castles to 60/120/240 (3 times as much)... So its still faster than pre-HoT but comparable if no1 is speeding dollies or putting tactics in. In addition to that they should make packed dolykas only count as 1 but maybe carry 3 times as much supply as normal dolyak as almost 4 times faster speed for minimal effort is way too much.TLDR: Upgrades are too fast now. They should nerf packed dollies to count only as 1 but buff the supply they carry and Increase Keep/Castle required dollies to double and triple. Sviel.7493
@Threather.9354 Even if we reverted to the old system, Holosmiths and Speedy Yaks would still be around. Given that Hills took 203 minutes to upgrade the useful stuff at base under the old system, the new 140 minute time is already a huge jump. But if we add Holosmiths (on both the Yaks and workers) and Speedy Yaks, that time gets cut to roughly 60 minutes. So rather than the new time (38 minutes) being 10x faster, it's closer to 2x faster. A significant difference, but not as groundbreaking. That said, this sort of calculation would have to be done for each structure individually. I know for SMC the speed increase was far more dramatic, for example. The solution, if one is needed, probably lies in the Yaks. Your suggested nerf to packed dollies sounds very reasonable, but tripling the required dollies to upgrade is probably taking it too far. The Yak change alone would put us around the maximum possible speed under the old system. Further changes would slow things down beyond where they used to be. Luthan.5236
Can someone actually post a build for engineer (core, scrapper or homosmith)? I saw Holosmith recommended. So far I still like my core engineer ha ha. I played only 2012 - 2013 and came back to GW2 in 2019. With WvW just having started in 2020 few weeks ago. I only know the core and Scrapper from PvE. Playing GW2 atm and at the end of the year trying PoF in PvE and the Holo there. I have finished full HoT + S3 + masteries and played a lot Scrapper in PvE. No tmy thing in PvP environment though.I saw people recommending the Holosmith for superspeed.Have tried a bit with Scrapper. (It can get 5 seconds from heal skill. Then 3 from throwing elixir. And 3 and another 3 from wells/gryo.) + the function gyro 3 seconds. With traited elixirs. (+ random try for swiftness with throwing the other elixir ... but I might use another gyro there instead.)I feel likt it is already a good amount to give superspeed to allies. (Low downtime and for giving it to yourself it is evne more.) But 80 percent uptime from Holo someone recommended ... I might try.I desperately try to upgrade the camp and the 2 towers in the back of the own corner ... + getting supplies to the keep. In EBG when keep got dried and the enemy capped towers and they need to be re-upgraded. Sadly in this server it happens at times when no one really cares. (And "outnumbered".) And stuff gerts just recapped while the few remaining players go in enemy corner to do stuff there. (When you could just defend and wait for the walking bags of loot to come to your corner instead. :D )
