AFKers in sPvP

I'm not sure if Anet actually does anything to reports of AFK players in sPvP. But if they do... it isn't meaningful enough to cause any noticeable decrease in its prevalence. I get an AFK player every few games, and I report them whenever I see them.

Now you can go into whether or not a specific player had enough reports to warrant action... or any justification within that scope. But the bottom line stands... whatever mechanic is in place to prevent AFK players... isn't effective.

I have witnessed more AFK players in PvP in Guild Wars 2 than any other game I have played in the last... well... ever.

I think they even removed the system to kick afk players. Now you can just afk from start and go do something else.

So far i heard of very little bans. There's one guy i know got banned, but it took like an year afking EVERY SINGLE OFF SEASON MATCH for this to happen. So this guy prolly had over 1k reports for it to happen.

That's the feature they removed. But it would you tell you "you'll be kicked in 20 secs" and you just had to perform any action for the whole thing to reset and take another 90 secs to start telling you you'd be kicked in 60 secs again.

So it was never really useful.

that's just afk, but how bout those just running around in home base area.

Put a dishonour timer that will start accumulate after a toon have not exit out of the 'safe' area after 30secs, kinda like the opposite of Bjora when you enters a blizzard area.

The total timer that offender racked up stops them from queue for x xmin just like match abandoners

Thinking about it, they would just run around for a while outside the homebase then probably just suicide themselves so they don't get kicked out the match, then stay another 30seconds until they get the kick notice or something

ANET needs to ban those who go idle/AFK a lot by actually reading the reports.

Most the time they are purposely causing their team to lose, which is match manipulation...which should be a bannable offense
