Sifu.9745
Is condi Scepter any good in PvP and WvW? Why do majority of eles play Scepter as FA Power only? Isn't burning stacking from Fire strong enough? Or Bleeding from Earth if you need more survivability but you can still do decent dmg? Also what is the best spec to go with condi scepter: Tempest, Weaver, core ele? haven't been tested it jet in PvP but in pve the dmg from burning is great. MrRay.3027
Scepter doesn't have that many condi skills, mainly power skill. They use FA because you don't have sustain with scepter and you need to defeat your opponent really fast. Even if condi scepter has good damage, it takes a while to ramp up.I switch to Scepter from Sword in some melee hateful fractals. Maybe I don't have a good rotation, but I don't do that much damage. Wolfric.9380
Scepter air has two instants on low cooldowns which synergizes with fresh air and phönix is a good power skill.but hey condi scepter is my favorite weapon ;-). I play tempest and have too low experience to tell about weaver. Tempest with sage amulet works for me.

Earth #1 and #2 are both condition. Weaver Fire/Earth #3 is condi. Only Air #1 and #2 is full Power. Ok, and Water if you count support, low dmg attunement as a part of your dps rotation. If Scepter Fire is not strong enough you can always sit in Earth, take Stone Heart, and slowly kill your opponents with your Bleeds while tanking their dmg. Well, at least that works in WvW, not sure about structured PvP ... :)
Wolfric.9380
In PvP your earth bleeds won´t kill fast enough or even kill anything. You have to combo with utilities and fields to do noticeable damage. If you played condi scepter you know how it works. And yes it does but it´s sustained damage not burst and usually hybrid. I use viper + celestial in WvW and play scepter/focus 99% of the time. There are lots of build variants. The most constant factor is that i trait earth + tempest. Fire or Arcane work well for me. Currently i use air in PvP with a lighning rod version which is fun.I hadn't much time to try weaver ....I dislike water but sometimes go for it PvP due to powerful cleanses ...You should have + burn duration in this build. It makes a large diffrence to boost the short duration burns from flamestrike and fire aura.
sokeenoppa.5384
You are missing cover conditions. Its too easy to clean ur bleeds/burns
Wolfric.9380
'Oh don´t underestimate what an ele can pull off to cover burn and bleed ...http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQJArdnUMA9XiVYCOOAcYilPAzduWX/rFhxJ4LY4AEAegA-jVCGQBqTPgiUVRKKzQ3+D6TtCAcCAM2DAQhKN0jSwAAIA7sODg1re1re1reuuO3ZduzG9oHNpAsbZF-wGood hybrid damage. You also don´t need to camp earth with weakness, which leads to multiple conditions. Also invigoration torrets is not needed. Enough regen is possible, it´s just easier to keep perma regen with torrets, but i prefer might and weakness. Problem is condi defence is not good to fight all kinds of condi mesmers and other condi classes with lots of cover are also hard. The trick against condi is to preassure and kill/rout them fast. This is why condi mesmer is so hard. If they can play they can´t be killed fast and you will break to the constant confusion spam.
juno.1840
I think main-hand dagger is a better condi weapon along with fire/earth trait lines and the fire/earth signets. Tempest has fire and earth overloads which also apply condi well. The fire overload generates a lot of might when using the fire GM trait. But if you're going to go melee then sword might be better plus you get the pulsing condi stance.
