The race is relevant only for story content (personal story) at the beginning of the game. The rest of the time, it's only aesthetic. It does not influence your combat skills or anything else regarding game mechanics.

Also you will recieve few different Utillity and Elite skills.

Minion Master Necromancer is basically "easy-mode" for solo PvE. Minions can take quite a bit of punishment. Minions distract enemies for you. Minions can heal you with the right traits. Minions make open-world and story PvE silly easy.

The biggest problem with minions though is that you can easily become dependent on them which could later stunt your ability to play the game at a high level.

While races are mostly about looks, size does matter. Personally, I don't like playing the huge lumbering norn, and while I greatly enjoy the asura animations, attitude, and story, everything is so tiny on them it make me wonder why I bothered with good-looking gear. When in tight spaces, like some jumping puzzles, over-sized toons can make trouble with the camera.

Also, the charr running/bounding makes me motion sick.

That's all just me. Obviously, everyone's views on these things vary.

Really, very good comunity. Thanks for the support!

I'm new, unfortunately I have not finished the main campaign of previous expansions. Now I bought the new expansion, will I have trouble understanding the story or will I be able to understand it anyway? Can i found a summary?

Thanks!!!

Once you get into the story, it's no problem following what's going on, but starting PoF without having seen the events of Living World Season 3 will leave you, at the beginning, seriously mystified as to why you're doing what you're doing, and, later on, who the flip "Aurene" is. (If you finish the Auric Basin and Tangled Depths parts of Heart of Thorns, at least, you'll have a fair idea about Aurene, but without LS3, you will have no idea what caused you to run off to Elona.)

For summaries, check the Guild Wars 2 wiki (link at the top of each forum page). Be aware that it's hosted by ArenaNet, but written by the players, so its accuracy is not guaranteed, especially immediately after new content is released.
