Consistency

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am a new player and I was testing some skills with my sylvari engineer when I noticed that "Static Shock" requires a target. If I try to use it without "autotargeting" or manual tab-targeting I get an error message "You must have an enemy targeted to use that skill" and the character does nothing. On the other end "Grasping Vines" still needs a target to function properly but when I try to use it without a target I don't get any error message and the character does the skill animation without hitting anyting. I would really appreciate that both skills will function properly without auto or manual targeting at all, but I understand that it could be too difficult for what they are worth. If this isn't possible at least I would make them consistent to one another imho using the same error message for "Grasping Vines" and blocking any character animation like happens with "Static Shock" would be the better choice.

There is a huge variety of skills where this happens, across all professions. I think it is intentional. Don't ask me why, though. ;)

the consistency thing bother me so much 😑, maybe cause I'm an engineer 😊 (ivl)

Apart from this, I have used the command "/bug" in-game to report some "invisible walls" and objects without collision detection but will they ever be seen (and hopefully fixed) by anyone, should I post them on the forum to make them more visible to the devs? It is so strange to me to encounter these kind of bugs in a game almost a decade old 🤔

I've used the /stuck command to indicate the bug. And I've recently been stuck in terrain that was in the core game.

well, i remember i read that if you get stuck in the core game you should use a waypoint and if you get stuck in an instance you should use the command "/stuck" although I'm not sure it works because this never happened to me
