Primordus and Jormag battle is EXACTLY how the battle with Deep Sea Dragon should NOT be

Recommended Posts

For being a free LW episode this was acceptable in terms of scale, but I hope this is NOT what they plan to do with DSD.

The Deep Sea Dragon and what could be the last battle with an elder dragon... deserves a Mouth of Mordremoth-like battle. The world event not the story mission.

Something of that size, scale, and interaction. An ACTUAL battle with an elder dragon. Not a scaled-down, avatar version they have done with Primordus, Jormag, and Mordremoth. Zhaitan and Kralkatorrik were the closest we got to a real battle in terms of actually seeing most of the whole dragon and being able to fight it directly.

To only fight its head or some random object or person that represents it would be a massive let down and an embarrassment after so many years of build up and anticipation. Especially if the battle is in a new expansion.

This can be such a great battle. Please don't Braham it up.

You know, giving your feedback would land better with devs if you don't accompany it with memes. Also 'braham' isn't a verb.

Memes are a great way to combine complicated emotions and a web of thoughts into something thats easily digest-able. For example. Here I can pull out that people are upset enough to put out the effort to make memes about guild wars 2. It's been a while since I've seen that!

How about "Please don't Ka-Braham it up."

Works for me!

Oh it landed just fine and the use of Braham is exactly how it should be 😉

The Zhaitan battle was terrible and a joke, other than it the whole war was great.

Mordremoth' DS battle was cool. The story instance sucks and was full of bugs during release.

As for Kralkatorrik, the "All or Nothing" battle was very epic and intensive, it should have been the real ending. The "War Eternal" was a bit downhill since he was already badly injured and you just attack the weakpoint.

I disagree entirely, we need some humor to alleviate just how depressing this series of releases have been and as White Kitsunee said memes help get thoughts across easily and understandably.

I think there won't be a battle against deep sea dragon... It could be a friendly one like aurene... And the end of dragons could be aurene and DSD working together to sacrifice themselves and putting an end to dragon age to save tyria....

PS. No flame pliz

Tbh, after this “fight” with Primordus and Jormag, I get this feeling that we actually won’t fight the DSD and they either might be good/neutral OR possibly under the new emperor of canthas control. I’m thinking more of their power being siphoned into someone which I guess would save them on having to create a giant and laggy dragon fight.

Let’s just be realistic here because that Jormag X Primordus fight was mainly us fighting their champions with the dragons in the background. I definitely feel that’s what will happen in the next expansion with just the DSD doing something in the background.

GW2 writing:
The commander is dead... oh wait he isn't...
Braham is dead... oh wait he isn't....
Jormag is smart... well she kind of forgot about that...
Primordous is uncontrollable power, just as Krauk was driven mad, so much conflicting magical energy is impossible to control... until it isn't...
Tiami is dying of a rare condition and doesn't have long... but she is liked by the community, so I guess just give her a limp and move on....
Zoja and Logan haven been captured by Mordremoth, you can only save one... you automatically choose Logan...
Trahearn spent his whole life studying the dragons, and understands how cunning they can be... sends full army into unknown territory without scouting...

I didn't realize the writers from GoT had moved over here, but maybe if the next expansion is good, we'll just forget how bad the writing has been and for how long that's been the case...

What's the saddest part of this release for me... I actually enjoyed the final story chapter. The ones leading up to this didn't have engaging gameplay, had terrible story, so when I was finally able to do anything epic, even if it destroyed the story, I was happy. For those 10 minutes of content they made this release, I was happy. And then it ended, and I realize how dirty I had gotten... haha

I will consider EoD when we get more news, but I doubt I'd get it for the story.

While I do agree an event that encompasses an entire map like Dragon's Stand is something I would hope for, I do not enjoy the last bit of Dragon's Stand. The Mouth of Mordremoth is cool in design, but the fact that you swing a greatsword like a toothpick at it and expect the Mouth to be slain by poking at its chin... The Deep Sea Dragon would deserve a lot more than that.

To be fair it did seem the Developers were trying to get us to slay the Mouth atop the giant tree, but sadly it was not meant to be.

I'll be honest: I've only enjoyed villains such as Scarlet, Caudecus, Lazarus, Balthazar and Joko.

In terms of size I've also enjoyed fight against Wyverns, Samarog, Slothasor, and Keep Construct. Fight like Tequatl, Shatterer and Drakkar seems less of a fight and more of a +50 players trying to give one boss a manicure. It does not interest me that much. If they had made the staggering animation of Tequatl such as when it got hit by the canon it would lie on the ground and we could hit its stomach instead, then yeah, I would enjoy the fight more! Small tweaks here and there could make a world of difference.

I cannot imagine a fight against an elder dragon that would interest me as much as fighting Balthazar again, so perhaps its better to fight something that is tangible. Like the champions of elder dragons.

A last note: I did enjoy playing the last episode of Champions. While it was not the outcome I expected, I also did not hate it for what happend to Primordus and Jormag.

Just my thoughts and honest opinions :)
