Jabu Jabu.3971
Hello, I was very disappointed when the other day I wanted to craft some more Tonics of Icebrood Corruption and i saw that the Coarse Sand Pile price went sky high because of the new achivs. Now i want to understand why didn't you take this into account when you implemented these new crafts. And you are certainly free to do so, but then i think it's very unfair to not let us be able to sell the Tonics after this patch. Because now it's just not worth to craft the infusion any longer as the materials are so much more expansive than just buying the infusion off trading post, and people like me who already crafted maybe half of the tonics needed to make the infusion, what do they do with them? Where shall I put the tonics now? So I wish you simply make the tonics tradable on the trading post because otherwise you just let people waste a lot of work for nothing and i'm not fine with that. It's a really low move. I hope someone understands what i mean, in the end all the materials crafted for the tonic are not account bound, so why would the tonic be account bound at this point? Zaxares.5419
I support your suggestion, more so because it's actually possible to get Frost Legion tonics as a direct drop from the DWC North Meta chest too. For a player who isn't interested in going for the infusion, these tonics would otherwise be wasted, so why not allow the tonics themselves to be sold? There should probably be a better way of acquiring Coarse Sand directly as well. One possible method would be to introduce a PoF gobbler (similar to the Ley-Energy Matter Converter) that eats Eyes of Kormir, Congealed Putrescence, Slivers of Twitching Forgemetal, Piles of Ley-Infused Sand and Pulsing Brandsparks. Most of these materials are copiously abundant with supply far outstripping demand, so why not allow them to be traded for stuff you'd find in a desert, like Coarse Sand or Lumps of Glass?
Khisanth.2948
Unless they nerf Silverwastes into oblivion the sand price is going to drop back down since they the piles of silky sand drops from bandit chest in addition to other sources.
Ayrilana.1396
Sand prices will also drop in about a month when the legendary amulet collection sends them to the LS2 maps.
Fenom.9457
Sand is very common, it probably won’t even take a month like others are saying for it to drop
SoftFootpaws.9134
What it did to guilds is far worse, now crafting even a single decoration is awful. Pile of Coarse Sand is needed for literally everything on Scribe. And then there's Lumps of Glass.. Edited May 3, 2021 by Hannelore.8153

That is true. I suspect we probably will see Coarse Sand prices drop a bit when that happens. But still, following the Frost Legion infusion introduction, Sand prices have never really returned to what they were. They used to be basically vendor value, owing to the fact that there really wasn't a major sink for them before. But afterwards, despite about 4+ months, Coarse Sand has mostly stayed around its new price of around 2s, so the supply is not outpacing the demand. (During the same period, Jormag blood prices fell from 2-3s to about 50c.) Considering that Sand and Glass has several other uses in addition to the Tonics (as opposed to the Jormag blood), I still do think there should be some additional supply taps added, again with an eye to increasing the value of otherwise unwanted PoF materials.
