You should absolutely bind Skyscale (or Griffon) and Skimmer to their own keys. Jackal as well if you habitually play maps with sand portals. Because then you can always access them instantly in the water or in flight without fumbling around for your "active" mount.

I have all the mounts and I only use three of them on a regular basis. 

Should I ask that all the other be disabled?

The point is now I know I'm not the only one facing this issue, and hope the dev saw this silly poll and known that there a 2yrs-ago bug has to put on their bug fixing map

I said, instead of removing the ability for people to use the mount in PvE, they just need to fix the X button to save the last used mount in PvE. So that it doesn't switch to Warclaw when you exit WvW but keeps what you used in PvE. 

 

There's literally no reason to disable a mount ever. I agree that this needs to be fixed, but they need to fix it the other way around, not by disabling the mount.

 

Also, how are you dying 10 times before you figure out that the Skyscale is no longer on your X button lol.

Becoz I always almost do the X + jump to the air in the same time

You don't have the Warclaw mount?

Or, are you saying 'X' changed when you entered WvW to Warclaw?

Of course, it would, as that's the only Mount in WvW.

But, if you aren't mounted when leaving WvW, your 'X' will revert to whatever Mount you last had activated.

I have the warclaw

And my "X" was set the skyscale

and every time I'm out from WvW back to PvE, my "X" changed to warclaw, no mater I have mount up in WvW or not

Mine only stays on Warclaw if I leave WvW mounted.

Maybe a -repair of the client is in order?

already try, and removing all add-ons (d912pxy reshade etc.). still can't solve

Hopefully the upcoming WvW buff event will change that....although I've not stepped in WvW previously so that as my first time will probably not go that well hahaha

Hope Devs will saw this thread and put a fix on their roadmap.

As others have said - ideally it would be convenient if the selected mount would be remembered in each game type, the same way as gear/traits are remembered.

Lol, i see. 😃 Well, they should fix the X bug so that it remembers the last used mount in PvE. No need to disable Warclaw, just not let it override what you had.

You know what would be great? If we could use the warclaw's abilities in pve. Gate/Condi bar break, sniff, the lance, are all things I could see uses for in pve.

I'd endorse this if you could really use these in pve (Drizzlewood for example) but to prevent it from kidnapping the key, I did a complete remap of this kind :  https://imgur.com/JZ6PA3m

They just need to fix the bug. Someone pointed out awhile back that it only occurs when you are mounted leaving WvW.

 

I'd rather they gave it either unique PvE only abilities like climbing or just the same as the raptor so players would have a viable cat mount option for PvE play.
