Swift Vanguard.1089
hello people of gw2, I’m a big fan of firebrand and an even bigger fan of big chungus greatswords. I’m aware they don’t compliment each other very easily. I see all these Condi builds Which I’ve tried and they have been very good dps wise but I’m just not having fun with scepter/torch & axe/torch. I want greatsword & axe/torch. Is there anyway I can make a build that makes greatsword work with firebrand efficiently and effectively? Im currently running Full Grieving gear and sort of playing a kind of hybrid build (just in case anyone wanted to know before answering my question)
otto.5684
For open world, sure. You could also play power FB. It is not great, but pretty good. For grouped content not really.
Infusion.7149
For fractals or openworld if the mobs die in seconds then power firebrand isn't bad. If the enemies don't die in a few seconds and mobs get the burn ramp you are better off with condi FB. https://discretize.eu/builds/guardian/power-firebrand
Loboling.5293
Here you go:http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PWQAElRwAZZsHmJW+PqPdA-zRJYwRB/Z0mCIdJgFPIBwG41QhPLA-e If you are running solo, you can deal some serious damage with this build. It's also good for group content, although you'll deal less sustained damage than condition builds.
cat.8975
If you really want to play a power FB build over condi for whatever reason, this should be relatively effective:http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PWwAEt3lRweYIsJGJO2L9PdA-zRIYRUzXGVUBpnCqNNUYcD-e Definitely recommend using the standard condi quickbrand build against anything that lasts longer than 20 seconds. Asum.4960
For a more sustain oriented version you could try out something like This (keeping in mind celestial now adds Conc. and Expertise as well). Fairly easily solo's Tier 2 Fractals (and everything Open World ofc) and scales very well for casual group activities, providing permanent Quickness and reasonable group healing. Meta wise, there is just Power Quickbrand for no heal Fractal runs, which works fairly well for general OW as well (swap Fiery Wrath for Zealous Scepter for solo Might generation and Perfect Inscriptions for Righteous Instincts for Crit Chance since no Fractal Potions and no group to share Signet with). It does have very poor self sustain under pressure though (for which you can drop Radiance for Honor). Edited May 12, 2021 by Asum.4960

Dashizzit.3861
Would a Celestial FB with GS work for smallscale stuff in wvw? I am looking for a hybrid build that can do a little of both!
