Questions about the Aurora masteries.

Recommended Posts

I'm working on the Aurora masteries and I've mostly completed Bloodstone Fen and Ember Bay, and I'm working on Bitterfrost Frontier right now...I'm not making any progress on the hearts in BF, though. I've done all the events but but they aren't showing as being completed. Anyone know what the problem is?

Also: does the WvW reward tracks count towards the completion of Aurora masteries?

Not sure GW Noob got their answer. Bitterfrost Frontier is no different than the rest of the maps as far as hearts go. You do the tasks, your heart meter fills, the heart is done. Then you go to that heart vendor and buy their "Friends of ..." to fulfill the item you need.

All of the "first" items on the different hero achievements (eg. Glacial Gauntlets for Bitterfrost Frontier Hero) can be acquired by their respective PvP or WvW track. The other way is to get it through the map's Mastery achievements. Because you end up doing so many achievements in the maps on your way to Aurora, there's a good chance you will get or be not far away from getting the Mastery achievement through your normal play. For me, I only used the reward track for Bitterfrost Frontier and Siren's Landing. I managed to get mastery on the rest with little effort. The reward tracks are also a good way to get some of that map's currency, which you'll need later. (Siren's Landing was especially useful for this)

A few more tips below. (minor spoilers)

Spoiler

If you don't know yet, Draconic Mons is the major bottleneck on your journey to Aurora due to "A Henge Away from Home". This is time gated and you need to do all the daily hearts in Draconic Mons to acquire a Druid Runestone, which you will need multiples of. I think it's 20 days? So focus on this most of all. Do the rest as you find time or maybe when you get daily rewards.

One last hint is that if you are trained in Jeweler, start building up a stockpile of Xunlai Ingots. You'll need 18 of them. Otherwise, put some money aside and starting trying to buy them.
