Figuring your damage with +Damage?

How do you see what the damage boost is due to runes and traits which like Soul Barbs and Rune of the Berserker's sixth trait. I tried to see the increase from Soul Barbs by selecting then going into Death Shroud but the tool tips never change, same with equiping runes with similar condi/power stats as the runes which grant an additional increase on the sixth trait. What am I doing wrong? The condi damage increase using Devouring Darkness is visible but these other increases aren't.
