Tips for Conservation of Magic events?

I've been trying these events for a while now, where you need to defend the ley magic from the inquest and even in small groups (which are difficult to get for these events given their nature), they seem just impossible to pass. On top of that, there's long cooldowns between events and constant check ins with the head NPCs to know what's happening where. Anyone have any tips on passing these events to get these achievements in 2021? It's extremely un-fun and frustrating and for now I'm just going to give up on this side quest line. Thanks.

Oh urgh, those achievements. I remember spending a horribly long day in Mt Maelstrom grinding those events to finish that category... you basically have to:

1. wait till there's an event completer daily for the relevant zone (this could take a loooong time),
2. pop a mentor tag,
3. announce the event (and maybe that it's for the Conservation of Magic achievements) in map chat, and
4. hope you don't attract SO big a zerg that the event scales to infinity and fails.

IIRC the thing that usually made the events fail when I was trying for them was not enough people killing inquest in the back half of the event.

I’ve also struggled with these events. They are pretty complex to tackle alone, and the content is pretty dead now and on core maps to boot, which aren’t always as populated as newer maps/maps with lucrative metas.

also because people don't clear out the golemmancer which are constantly buffing the golems with block

I did them recently and afaik they start every 10 minutes, so there isn't really a long cooldown. I usually called for help and 2-7 people came to help.

Or you can make a group on lfg and do it, im sure i saw 2-3 groups over the last 2 weeks advertising it.

If you're doing it mostly for the central Tyria mastery point, and havent tried fractals, there are some easy fractal achieves that reward a mastery point each. Some even soloable.
