pablodalk.6109
Hi All, might sound a stupid question but are rewards form achievements like "Rare collections - Luminate's backplate" a one off? What if I want it on multiple chars? Cheers
Inculpatus cedo.9234
Yes, the actual item in a one-time reward. Although, the skin is unlocked so you can transform any other backpack with the same stats or other stats to look just like the Backplate in question. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Luminate's_Backplate https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rare_Collections 4
Rasimir.6239
Once you gain any weapon, armor, mini pet, ... from an achievement that is account bound (or you bind it to your account), the corresponding skin will be unlocked in your account wardrobe. To use it on different characters, just go to the wardrobe and use a transmutation charge to put the skin on that characters backpack (or whatever).
Danikat.8537
Building on what's been said already: some items will automatically unlock their skin in the wardrobe when you obtain them, but others (usually ones which are not account bound by default) won't unlock until you use them, or you can right-click them and select the option to unlock the skin in the wardrobe. It will bind it to your account (if it isn't already bound) but it's a way of unlocking the skin without having to bind it to a character, select stats or whatever else. (Also in case it's unclear once a skin is in your wardrobe it's there forever, you can use it as many times as you like and you'll never run out of uses or lose it.)
pablodalk.6109
Thanks guys. I was more interested in the item its self than its skin. I'm poor and was after a nice chilled solo way of getting ascended items on multiple chars. Cheers
Inculpatus cedo.9234
Here's an article about Ascended gear with links to specific gear and how to obtain it. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ascended_equipment
Astralporing.1957
There's a lot of ways of obtaining ascended backpacks, actually. Eventually you almost certainly will end up with more of them than you have characters. Some are from collections, some are from crafting, some have to be bought but with other currencies than gold, like karma (6 backpacks in ls3ep6) or map currencies (many ls3 episodes - i suggest trying out ls3ep3, bitterfrost frontier is easy to farm and offers a lot of ascended choices) Edited May 15, 2021 by Astralporing.1957

Cheers If you want cheap (basically free) backpacks and trinkets, there's no better place to get them than Living World Season 3 maps. And you can get them as many times as you want, it just takes a bit of a currency grind.

In terms of chilled it is hard to beat simply having a character parked next to the large and medium essence chest in Bjora Marches to collect eternal ice and then converting that to LS4 currency for trinkets 🙂 On the other hand it is worth getting the blood ruby ring, amulet and back since the stats can be reset cheaply. For the cost of some unbound magic and an inventory slot you can have the equivalent of a legendary ring, amulet and back item for much less cost and effort.

I've only recently start doing any Icebrood Saga lol, but yeah, ice shards are a great way of converting currency if you have karma. Dragonfall as well to buy up all of it daily for Volatile if you need LS4 ones. But the blood ruby stuff is probably the best value for effort! They're like Caladbolg, basically mini legendaries! If you don't use infusions, you don't even need to sweat about resetting them. Plus, that map is kind of fun to do, especially with Skyscale so it's not like it's a hard grind.

The deleting infusion issue(because the game was deleting the item and giving you a new one instead of resetting the stat) was fixed a long time ago but even if you are paranoid you can get the infusion extractor from the fractal golem. Not much for grinding in general though, why I was looking at achievements as I see them less as a grind (gather x of y) and more just a long quest 😄.
