Event Idea: Blessing of the Ancients

I loved the Skyhammer event and thinking of it gave me this idea. "Blessing of the Ancients" would be a bi-hourly or quarterly event where whichever server takes Bloodlust would have Forts fully repaired and tactics replenished for that map.

When you factor in that some specific time zones won't have enough coverage, and there will unfair advantages to others, I can't see it working.

Plus I still have PTSD from Oasis.   🤣

We had retrieve the orb, it was fly hacked and then removed.

We had quaggan lake, which got removed to bloodlust ruins which brought back orb effects.

We had oasis event which would blow open gates, then only do half damage, then removed because of lag.

 

They could have worked the orb event around by making it an escort event, like how supply dolyaks are, to prevent the fly hacking part but give an open field event to attack/defend.... Node farming seems to be a thing in other open pvp games, so I dunno maybe work the dolyaks into something worth defending/attacking, have it carry something else than supply, and of course have it be like a boss so it takes a while to kill, only triggered when enough players are on the map for all 3 sides.

 

Dunno, much they can do, but much do they will not.

Forget about having random events, they should just remove daily veteran creature and replace it with dolyak defender (ideally when there is caravan disruptor). There is zero reason for a competitive mode to have something that is quite literal PVE with no contribution to the matchup outcome.

Dolyaks do have value, without them your structures don't tier up or gain supply; killing them can provide you supply. As someone that regularly helps tier up garrison nearly every week, I would know. The protection sphere effect ("Protected Caravan") on dolyaks only is applied when players are near it , if that's what you mean by "takes a while to kill" it already exists in the game as it reduces damage by 90%.

Dolyaks are also part of the supply lines guild mission.

Ok.... my guild use to upgrade all three keeps back when they actually had manual upgrading to do. You're probably 1 in every 1000 players that actually give a F about defending dolyaks at this point, everything upgrades regardless, the only productive thing might be killing enemy dolyaks so they don't t3 one of your keeps. But then it's a who cares, one boon ball can just truck through t3 keeps anyways, and even then they only care to sit in there to farm you.

 

Yaaay.... once a week dolyak guild mission.... super fun....

 

My suggestion was to have a super sized boss siegerazor edition dolyak spawn from like middle ruins and runs it's way to one of the three keeps, it only triggers like every hour and it requires like all sides to have at least 20 present on the map at that time. When it dies or reaches it's destination it rewards like 100 supply/100 badges/20 heroics/20 tickets/20 memories or something.

 

Pointless talk anyways cause we'll never have map events.
