This game legit sucks right now

Someone needed to come out and say it.

 

This balance is unacceptable. It is borderline as bad as PoF on release.

 

And there is way way too much cheating going on, all forms.

 

We are going to see another mass exodus of what is left of veteran player base if these gross errors are not corrected soon.

 

I mean like soon, hot-fix tomorrow soon.

I agree, I'm on the verge of quitting the game, at least until there's better balance.

If we don't get a patch soon there won't be much reason to play.

I mean what did everyone expect? Everything got removed or diminished so far into mediocrity, that there are no builds anyone can really roll...so when one build appears that is even slightly better then anything else, it's going to be dominant.

 

People here have been saying it...not just me but others here have been saying that the "nerf this, buff that" approach is a dead end, and now...we are getting closer to that end. There's almost no amulets left, there's almost no build choices that have impact, everything costs a million resources to use, has an extremely long cooldown, only lasts a second and does 0 damage.

 

So... Maybe if people actually looked into the math, we would actually be somewhere by now but instead we have had everything nerfed into obscurity...seems like next thing people want to nerf is...yet again burning and immobilize now... people now have their eyes on Scourge and Reaper too...

The balance in 2v2 has always been bad because the game is balanced for 5v5. In 5v5 I have a lot of fun but in 2v2 with condi bunker all around its just boring.

Did anet really think the mentality of nerfing effective or fun skills/traits to make the less used/useless traits seem more appealing would lead to a better experience for its players? And this is when they arnt out right removing options or themselves making what would be options unless ie 300 sec traits just as a example, all while talking build diversity lol whered they find these guys... seriously.

Uve also got the pvp community adding to the above by refusing to l2p against certain builds and instead taking the far easier route and complain loudly on forums and reddit to get anything effective on any class they dont play nerfed.......and anet often listens and does what they do which is nerf it in their own way that confuses even the players asking for the nerfs haha.

Honestly after 7 yrs kinda given up on this game slowly over the last yr, games like smite and other pvp oriented games offer better pvp experiences and with games like swords of legends releasing soon which is impressing every content creater I've watched that has participated in the alpha I really don't see this game as a solid time investment anymore. Thats purely subjective though, to all that do still enjoy this game i say thats great and have many many more hrs fun :).

2v2 is too stressful with this type of balance they should have kept adding new utilities to counter other ones instead of constantly reworking everything and making things less fun

Yeah, kind of the same boat I am in.

 

I've been mad at the game before and have left for awhile on short breaks, but had always come back.

 

This time around it's different.. There was a point where I wasn't mad about anything at all, which is important to note, and it had occurred to me that balance at this point had breached this level of sloppiness & negligence that truly was too much. I found myself simply getting bored, losing interest, and not having fun with how poorly implemented recent changes have been.

 

Just pointing out again, two main reasons:

 

1. Balance patches are actually so bad and ill thought out lately, that it looks like a team of people are actually going out of their way to ruin anything that even remotely resembles actions taken for balance.
2. Completely 100% almost as if it were intended, total negligence towards moderation vs. cheating of all forms.

 

I want to support Arenanet as I have been doing since Guild Wars 1. But you know what? Sometimes the best support given is when someone points out to you how bad your messing up.

 

Last time I do it though. This time around since I've taken a break, I am not missing the game.

I 've been playing PvP less and less myself. Recently I only play now for easy dailies and the occasional transmutation charge to satisfy my fashion wars addiction.

 

I stick around because I still enjoy the PvE content that the game has to offer. I'm not an 8 year veteran like some others here so I've still got plenty of things to experience in the game, and with an expansion around the corner, it doesn't seem like I'll run out of things to do anytime soon. Thing is, when I'm just roaming about in the open world, doing fractals, raids ect. I'm actually having fun with the game. 

 

PvP meanwhile, just drains all the fun out of the game... Boons feel unimpactful, traits nerfed into uselesness. Some of my favorites being

 

"Remove conditions and heal per condition cleared"

 

"Conditions cleared: 1"

 

"Remove stability and deal increased damage if stability was removed"

 

"Damage dealt: 5"

 

"Fire a massive hecking lazer and deal a guaranteed critical strike to everything in that general direction!"

 

"...Damage dealt 5"

 

Boi, sure am feeling that power creep right now! Me and my broken 1 seconds of protection and 5 damage lazers! Oooo. It's creeping all right. Right into the gutter!

 

I'd rather play in game modes where my traits and abilities actually feel like they do anything. The nerf mob can have PvP.

In my opinion what brought down pvp in gw2 was PoF. Maybe its just me, but the amount of inbalance, issues, cheesing, abusing keyboard faceroll specs, switching from one c*ncer build into another right after patch made fully by blind people, and then uprising numbers of bots, cheaters and wintraders - everything provided or started being obnoxious with PoF. Its cool that ANet decided to be a special kid and instead of reworking exisitng specs (like WoW expansions do) they decided to add another into the game. But such manouver cant be left on its own, there needs to be a team that is constantly looking at whats going on, what is overperforming and whats underperforming. Instead of that we have bunch of PvE ladies that smush dragons and then somehow wants to provide balance into PvP with patching every 6-months (patching that is blind, its not curing c*ncer, its metastasis). And no, covid or working on EoD is not an excuse.

Golden age ended with vanilla and HoT. Now can only imagine what clownfiesta its going to be with new expansion, if it ever hits and if we still will be around lol. Its like building a skyscraper, you messed up foundations but youre still going. This cant end well.
