Griffon Collection

Hi all,

 

I'm really new to this game.  I have this 80 mesmer that is just wondering around doing...things.  Currently trying to collect the griffon so I can get it's mastery up.  I can't for the life of me find a group or have any luck starting a group / squad to do the following:

 

• Limwe in Elon Riverlands (Deadhouse event)
• Gundayo (legendary Facet in Crystal Oasis)

 

I'm in NA if that matters.  Is it really that quiet around here or just not as many newer folks, those who still need griffon items?

I would try to do it when the zone is a daily. Tomorrow is desert lumber so you might have more luck.

Personally, i just used a solo build to do Deadhouse, it's not that hard with the right build, but a few minutes on LFG at peak hours usually does the trick. Maybe try it when Augury Rock meta is nearing, or finished (in between doppelganger break), there's usually people there then, or when there's dailies to do in that map like Infusion suggested. You kinda have to get lucky to trigger Deadhouse when Augury rock is done but i think that event only starts when someone starts it so it shouldn't be too big of a problem...

 

You can also do legendary bounties with a good solo build, but again, peak times and LFG help.

Make sure you mention this is for the griffon collection, i've seen some people come and help that already have a griffon unlocked.

 

Also helpful is a Commander tag if you have it, but Mentor tag will do just fine.

I don't know why you have trouble finding a group for the Legendary Facet.   Most people simply call it out in map chat, and pop a mentor tag, or join a bounty train, which run relatively often.

 

The one thing to make sure of is that you don't ask during the Casino Blitz meta because the odds are most people will be doing that at that time.  I've run this with guildies any number of times and I've never had any trouble getting a group for it.  I never really use LFG I just pop a tag and wait.

The other trick with bounties is to take the bounty but don't get too close until your group is there, because if you get close and spawn it, the timer starts.  Take the bounty, wait back a bit and hang out until you have enough people.

I saw someone doing Legendary Facet this morning.  Are you checking the Looking for Group option?  You can always start your own LFG too.  Weekends are probably the best, or when it's evening in NA.

Check looking for group, or post a group.  If the daily is on the map (like for bounties) that's also a good time to check after reset.  If all else fails, simply ask on map chat if anyone is willing to help, frequently people jump in just because they know how difficult it may have been for them in the past to get those done.

Try to ask in /map "lf help facet griffin collection", something like this.

Can be long some day, try it when the pinata or casino event are near to get more people around.
