Recent D912PXY issues

Recommended Posts

This application is becoming a real problem for ANet. If you follow this forum section carefully, you will notice that a good chunk of reported problems are actually problems caused by D912PXY.

Typical issues:

 - You installed a new GPU driver and now your game crashes or you get black screens or

 - Your system memory or video memory consumption is unexpectedly high.

Fix:

Clear the shader cache of D912PXY and if this does not help, remove it completely and wait for an update.

In general:

Use only 3rd party applications if you actually know what you are doing! If you don't know what a shader cache wrapper does, then at least don't forget you installed one, when your game suddenly causes you troubles and remove it.

People could just use dxvk which actually is a full implementation rather than a hackjob per the dxvk developer.

Should be noted that d912pxy runs pretty much nothing but GW2 and cuts a lot of corners whereas dxvk is a more or less complete D3D9 implementation, so you're basically comparing apples and oranges, but it should still be competitive with Windows Dx9.

Sure it isn't "supported" on Windows , but it is far more robust. Even if you look at the threads people made about dxvk it is performing better and is more stable.

edit: Also dxvk is the standard way for Steam Proton to run Windows games so with an impending Steam release that ought to be taken into consideration.

Support is available on discord for users who have any issues. For some perspective, there are plenty of users who don't have problems.

Also, keep in mind dxvk is designed around compatibility whereas, d912pxy is specifically built for performance.

When i see users reports issues on discord, it's mostly due to conflicts from using multiple 3rd party applications, like ARC etc.

Thank you for bringing up the topic and promoting awareness of the d912pxy to those not familiar with it.

You can compile and made it yours.
it doesn't matter if it's on windows nor linux.

I have been using vulkan with reshade on windows 10 for a long time.
And use it on Linux as well.

This is the feature!
Anet should use it on their game 😉
