PoF chapter 2 Blazing a Trail - Zalambur's Office

Full disclosure: I stink at this game. Stink ... on ... ice.

 

That said, I'm stuck on the Awakened fight at the casino in PoF Chapter 2. Any advice on how to deal with this awful combat encounter with a bog-standard warrior? I'm enamored of the rifle skills (i.e. rifle is the only weapon I've had any real success with) though I'm open to other options.

 

Poking through the forums here, I've seen advice to "pick them off one by one", which would be helpful if they would stop using the buddy system (always two charging in at a time) and stop spamming whatever the bleep that AoE effect is that they can apparently target from across the room and out of direct line of sight. It goes okay for a few Awakened kills and then suddenly my hit points melt away like ice cream in a blast furnace - despite the fact that as far as I can tell, nothing has changed from a second ago.

 

At this point I'd like an option of "screw the casino patrons, just kill them all and go away so I can continue with the story".

Well what stats have you focused on?

 

Rifle is one of warriors worse weapons btw, unsure if the resent buff made a huge impact.

Saying that I've "focused" on anything would really be abusing the word. I mostly kind of blunder along until I find something that works and use it ad nauseam. I'm really just a button masher. I prefer to stay ranged as much as possible because in melee I usually can't tell what the heck is going on.

 

I really need to get into the "multiplayer" mindset, it never occurs to me in game to ask for help from players right there. Thanks for the reminder.🙂

If you're a warrior and find yourself dying too much or being squishy, try using equipment with Marauder stats. It'll give you extra survivability while still being able to do damage. Exotic is fine, and if you have LS3, farm some ascended trinkets and choose Marauder stats.

 

I play on warrior in fractals (Berserker elite), and i have to say, Rifle is really slow and doesn't do much damage. You'll probably have more success if you use something else. Axe/Axe combo is pretty good on Berseker. In any case, check Metabattle for some build tips. They have good builds for each type of content. Check under "open world" and if you don't have elite specializations, there's core builds too. None of them use rifle, but if you like condition damage, longbow is pretty good, i used it for a while. You'll need Viper's or Trailblazer's stats for that to maximize damage. Viper's is a bit squishy though so i suggest Trailblazer's for tankyness. That way you still get to be ranged (with a melee option) and have enough vitality and toughness to survive if things go south.

 

When you optimise your build and start doing a lot of damage, you'll see that it's not as hard anymore. And PoF is a bit on the hard side, so it kind of requires you to start thinking about your build and stuff, otherwise if this mission i hard, others will be even worse.
