Jaym Resurrected.3972
Here is an idea for any of the WvW weekly events. This idea may be folded into any existing event such as no downstate. How about let any individual regardless of server use any siege which isn't already being used? You can still destroy enemy siege otherwise it'd be a nightmare. Now if someone is using an open field arrow cart you can down them and start using it yourself. If your commander wants to drop 8 rams on a gate to take a tower or keep then leaving those there isn't a good idea anymore. Of course you can wait an hour(s) until the guards take them out but your objective will have swords the entire time. Don't want someone to use those rams then need to get on that oil and destroy them. Maybe even modify it further and any siege within a certain radius gets converted into the new owner's siege so you don't have to destroy it. Ok this is a terrible idea, forget I said anything. MedievalThings.5417
I'd like to see a week where the only siege is rams and oil. And, max rams on a gate is 3. No more "hiding inside fully fortified, siege capped SMC and trebbing everything with 2 people while your ktrain blob easy mode farms" kind of stuff. I also want them to remove the supply from SMC. The disparity it creates just amplifies the stacking that the players are already doing to "press 1 to win every fight". Add no downstate to that week and it would be a perfect week of world vs. world.

Have thought about this one before. The only downside is how do you clear sieg up after the fact without some type of stow command that could allow the break down the siege afterwards. That said this would work well with one where a structure is not repaired on capture but has to be repaired. Want to make swiss cheese of the walls, so be it but you will have that may breaches you will need to repair after capture. Maybe move the 5 minute recapture to 10-15 in this mode but think how many battles just end on a flip that may well just continue because there is still an area where an active fight is going on. Guards would still switch to other side but damage done would need to be repaired if you want a fortified structure behind you. In order to reduce k-train encouragement a breached structure rewards less per tick and less capture rewards on reflipping but repairing and having full fortified walls are worth more. If you want to cap after hours, feel free but you will also need to clean up the mess you made else you are just using a scorched earth policy that will be handled once more people are back online, but you will be rewarded less from just k-training on empty maps. Just a twisted food for thought when theorycrafting.
