K I N I S H I.8251
Does anyone know how long would it take to get a griffon? I haven't started the path of fire yet. Would I be able to get 250 gold while doing the path of fire? thanks.
Excursion.9752
This is a round about guess but I would say 20 to 40 hours to be able to beat PoF which unlocks the quest to get the griffon. After that if you have all resources ready you can unlock the griffon in around 3 to 8 hours. The gold is a different thing all together is it possible to make that kind of gold in the game yes but you would have to be willing to sell all materials and equipment (exotic) you gather. Also you will have to resist the temptation to buy the shiny things you see along the way. So all in all I would give your self 2 weeks to a month depending on the type of player you are. 1
Sir Alric.5078
Completing the Path of Fire campaign is required in order to unlock the collections for the Griffon, but it's highly unlikely you'll be able to accumulate that much gold by doing just that. So you are probably going to have to farm gold for a little while. Edited May 24, 2021 by Sir Alric.5078 1
Danikat.8537
If it helps you don't need to get 250g all in one go. You have to buy 10 items which cost 25g each, so you only need 25g at a time, then you can buy one item and start saving up for the next one. Although you can't buy any of them until you finish PoF so it would be worth saving up any gold you get while you're doing that. There's also a lot more to it than just paying the gold, you also need to complete a bunch of events, find griffon eggs hidden in PoF maps and collect some other items. If you know what you're doing (or you're using a guide) and you have the gold ready it can be done very quickly, but it's hard to say how long it typically takes because there will be huge variation between players. My advice is not to worry about it. The griffon is nice to have but it's not required for anything and trying to rush through things like that is a great way to burn yourself out or get frustrated and end up quitting the game all together, at which point any time you did spend on it is wasted. It would be better to take your time and do it at whatever pace seems comfortable for you rather than worrying about exactly how long it should take and trying to finish it ASAP.
Veprovina.4876
Do like, one part of the PoF story, then one or few hours of gold farm. Then back to story, then farm. By the time you're done with the story, it'll unlock the griffon. You don't have to shell out 250g in one go as others have told you, and there's other events and achievements to complete besides the gold cost. So you can do a part of the griffon quest, then gold farm, etc., until you have the griffon and buy each 25g piece separately like, one per session. It's not a long process, but it requires some events and stuff you need to complete even if you have the 250 gold.
Hesione.9412
Do your dailies - 2 gold a day. Tequatl - 2 gold a day. Dragonstorm - 2 gold a day. Do some fractals, even tier 1 (which are fun!). If you have this mastery https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Supply_Line_Management and karma, buy all 6 every day and then wait for the best map bonus reward profit week and open them (stop when you have 44 of the main reward, there is diminishing returns that kick in at that point). Do metas, such as Silverwastes and Drizzlewood Coast and sell all the drops. In PoF, the metas such as the pinata, the doppelganger give an amalgamated gemstone once per day In HoT, the metas in VB and AB (in particular) tend to be well-populated, you get an amalgamated gemstone once per day plus stuff to sell.
Pirogen.9561
You can get griffon in a single day if you push it hard. Over the weekend, if you are more casual. 250 gold? I sold some Mystic Coins. 2+ gold each. Got them from login rewards. There are also ways to convert Laureals and Karma into gold. GW2 player can have lots of gold, as long as you are not into "legendary" and "fashion".
Touchme.1097
Pact network agents can profit you with map materials from 1.5g to 4.5g a day Check verdant brink for shiny bubbles, there is a chain of event lasting 50 minutes after the Meta Night and the Enemy that can award you 15g an hour in junk. You should be able to get 250g in 2 days of farming, rest depends on how lucky you are to get a group for events and spawning time of second spear in Desert highlands
Orack.9756
Hello @K I N I S H I.8251 Not gonna reply directly but given to you an advice instead. Don't look at Griffin / Skyscale about number like time, gold or so. See them as a little adventure with good reward. Otherwise you'll end like many people posting on the forum complaining about why it's so long/expensive/hard/boring/etcc.. to get it. It become like that only when people want to rush it. Take your time, enjoy the run accross the Tyria, if you can do it with friend (I've help 3 guildmate to get them even if I had already mine) it's even better. Having fun is important :) Edited May 25, 2021 by Orack.9756 3
