Mastery Points on new character

Hey everyone,

 

I am planning to delete my main, if i do so, will the mastery points i get with this char (even those i don't spent) will still be saved on the new char i will create or have i to do them all over again ?

 

Clarification : i will delete my main THEN create a new one, i want to keep the name for my new charcater.

Masteries, and their associated Points are account-wide.

So, yes, you will keep all Mastery Points.

Unless this is your only character i think... Don't delete your only character cause something happens when you do and i'm not sure what, but in case it's masteries and everything deleting, don't do it.

I have some other Char but they are lvl 2 so masteries does not apply on them, do you think it's safe ?

As long as you at least have one character left then you can delete the other.

Because, if you delete your last character i don't know what happens to masteries, bank contents, gold etc... Because those are all account wide shared things, and if there's nothing to share them between idk what happens, they might "stay" or they might get deleted.

 

Why do you want to delete your main though? Can't you just make a new character?

Because, if you delete the character, you'll lose all the birthday bonuses.

The longer you have each character, the more account bonuses and goods your recieve whe it's their birthday.

If you want to just keep the name then just use the https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Name_Change_Contract.

You old name will be locked to your account and available for 24 hours for you to rename a differet character. So you don't have to worry about someone else claiming it. Rename your main, then make a new character with your current main's name.

 

You can convert gold to gems, you don't need to buy it with real money.

800 gems currently cost 250 gold or about 10 euro.

It's up to you though. Just make sure you don't delete your only character.

Just to clarify, it is Mastery Points you are worried about, and not Hero Points? As stated, masteries are account wide, but hero points are per character. Anything soulbound also is lost (including character upgrades, like bag slots), it isn't tied to a character's name, so salvage/sell anything soulbound before deleting.

Also, even if it was your only character, anything account-wide is kept.  All progress on the account is kept when deleting one or even all characters.  What that allows one to do is transfer to a new server at no cost (as long as the server is not full).

yes HP are not account bound but mastery points are.
