GW1 question

Recommended Posts

Sorry to post it here but I couldn't find a dedicated GW1 forum...

Does GW1: The Complete Collection also include the Bonus Mission Pack, the PvP Access Kit and the Games of the Year Edition stuff? I understand that it contains all the major expansions, i.e. Eye of the North, Factions and Nightfall.

If I buy GW1: The Complete Collection is there anything else I need to buy or is it complete complete?

Thanks

If you buy the Complete Collection you do not need to buy the PvP Access Kit. That's specifically for people who only want to play PvP, it allows you to make dedicated PvP characters and play that mode but doesn't give access to anything else. (Imagine a GW2 character who starts in the Heart of the Mists and cannot leave except to enter matches - same idea.) You will get everything it includes (even the ability to make dedicated PvP characters who start at level 20) as part of the Complete Collection.

According to the GW1 Wiki it does include the Game of the Year edition items (that's vaguely alluded to on the store by saying it includes bonus items obtained by typing /bonus, but it's not at all clear because there were several types of bonus items from different promotions which all use the same command).

So I think it's just the Bonus Mission Pack you'd need to buy seperately.

It does not come with the Bonus Mission Pack, as Lan suggested.

It doesn't have the PvP Access Kit, but note that this only unlocks a basic set of skills for you. You'll be able to play PvP and unlock all of those skills regardless of that kit. This kit is really only for those that solely want to play PvP.

It DOES include the Game of the Year upgrades, which is the Fire Imp summon and 7 special weapons. M.O.X. will also be available.

All of this from personal experience, having purchased the Complete Collection myself.

I just went through my receipts from when I bought the game through Steam in 2019 and I had to buy the Bonus Missions separately. If you have never played the original game, hold off on buying the Bonus Missions as you really need to get through the campaigns etc to appreciate the stories they offer. I have had a lot of fun in the original game and still recommend ppl check it out.

Hope this helps!
