1 Day in - already done with this Season

Yesterday would have been the best opportunity to fix what this last patch has messed up in PvP - mainly Scourge, Prot Holo & Mantras - it was start of the season, patchday and ArenaNet would have have had enough time to figure out a solution.

This might be the first season in years I am considering to skip entirely - the penta Scourge + Core Necro nonsense we are seeing right now has nothing to do with having fun anymore

What about playing a normal 5vs5 season instead and looking how it goes after 100 matches?

Well, no. Not only is what Prot Holo and Scourge are doing right now unjustifiable, meaning them tanking 3v1‘s like raid bosses and turning the entire game mode into a one class fiesta, they also take literally every fun out of playing the game. Burn DH meta was already extremely frustrating, this meta right now beats it by far in terms of frustration. Not putting the 100 games into this

I agree, prot holo is too tanky for the dmg it has, scourge also has the same problem. 

Other classes specs are in a rather good place though

In nearly every placement match, there were two Necros on each team. You can predict which team will win based off who has the better Necros. That’s the game that I’m playing.

Kinda feel the same tbh. Yesterday a friend and I played and it felt really bad. Every match was either a complete stomp of a  lost or an extremly easy match and all of them had scourges and holo everywhere.

 

Whats worst is when other classes have these problem the get nerf into uslesness yet for Necro and Holo they dont seam to bother at all.

Somehow funny. Perhaps I have misunderstood something?

 

@Guirssane.7082 is asking @snoow.1694 what he is playing (which class or specialisation to assume). @crewthief.8649 (another person) then answers with a somewhat irritating response to the question that was basically asked of someone else. In doing so, @Guirssane.7082 does not seem to notice that someone completely different (@crewthief.8649 instead of @snoow.1694) has (apparently) mistakenly replied to his message (a somewhat confusing feedback). @Guirssane.7082 then points out to the person that he (...) has not answered his question. However, at this point @Guirssane.7082 (still) does not notice that the wrong person (@crewthief.8649) has answered him. The actual right person (@snoow.1694) who should have answered did not answer at all. 

 

Did I summarise it correctly? 😁

I've hammered the point about how we got there to death at this point. 

 

PvP isn't very fun atm, and it's not just because necromancer drains the enjoyment out of any fight they're in. We've methodically stripped so much away that it becomes progressively harder to deal with outliers as they come up, and as builds keep getting nerfed they get arguably less fun and more frustrating to play. 

 

Warriors are upset that they can't unga-bunga and embrace the true warrior fantasy. Instead they play music on warhorn.

 

Mesmers are still playing where's Waldo trying to figure out where their extra dodge went

 

Thieves have become masochists and clamor  to get their own class nerfed. 

 

Ele boomers tell their friends about how glass canons used to deal damage back in the day

 

Revs play in their energy puddle and get weird looks from the neighbors

 

Guardians try to heal themselves with their heal skill that doesn't heal

 

Engineers quietly build a religion about how core died for their sins. 

 

Everyone wonders where the population went.

The question is pretty irrelevant.  I agree 100% that this meta is miserable.  I have been playing scourge since I swapped during the 2s season.  I’m only playing for the rewards as necro is far from my favorite profession in PvP.  However, it’s just way too effective to play much of anything else.

The few weeks befor hot was released was the best balance this game had imo. Then hot was released and they started to do the esl pvp League. However it was during the bunker mesmer era and anet refused to change the meta for the entirety of the esl league making 100% waist of time to watch and had zero enjoyment for the players and viewers.
