Ignigknawt.7869
I've come to the point in my legendary crafting journey where I need to do the WvW reward track for a gift of battle *shakes fist at anet.* I don't WvW much so I was wondering what are some good classes/builds to run? Any advice is appreciated 🙂
Chaba.5410
Check out metabattle.com or gw2mists.com. Good build info there.
Infusion.7149
Scrapper (if you have marauder or minstrel gear) , chrono (if you have minstrel gear from tanking in PVE), or Firebrand (if you have minstrel gear in PVE). Possibly heal tempest (if you have magi or minstrel gear) as well but it's not popular in PVE so I don't think you would likely have healing gear for it. For purely damage I'd say power herald (you can run PVE gear) is your best bet along with DPS spellbreaker (swap some trinkets to marauder), power scourge (swap some trinkets to marauder), etc. Edited May 28, 2021 by Infusion.7149
kamikharzeeh.8016
please just check the builds on gw2mists. Â and please don't bring a ranger or thief. otherwise you will have to suffer your way through an easy farmed reward track. (for us Wvw players, one reward track can take only a day, 3-4 hours)

Pablo.3259
My best advice if you want to do wvw, if you are new, and if you have no Idea, is to play Guardian. Support Firebrand, CoreGuard, Dragon Hunter are most of the time nice to have in a group. Guardian is atm the n°1 class for WvW groups.   Edited June 1, 2021 by Pablo.3259

Any advice is appreciated 🙂 It very much depends on what you want to do in WvW. If your plan is to mindlessly follow the ktrain, just run something like scourge that can tag a lot of players quickly. If you actually want to improve as a player, Mesmer, Thief, Engineer, and Warrior are all solid choices for solo roaming. Balance in WvW/Spvp is fairly poor at the moment, but you can succeed with any class if you play well. The four classes I mentioned are particularly adept at solo roaming primarily due to mobility/stealth, which you will need in order to escape from large groups. When building for roaming, keep the following in mind. You need to be able to disengage from a fight (Revenant and Guardian can have solid mobility when chasing, but poor mobility when escaping). You need to be able to kill enemies relatively quickly (Necromancer and Elementalist are notorious for creating 10+ minute fights). You need enough defensive tools to fight multiple opponents at once. Stealth, mobility, cc, evade/block/invuln, and damage reduction are your friends. You need to be able to fight both power and condition builds. You will want a cleansing sigil, a utility skill cleanse, and a trait cleanse if possible. The current balance team definitely seems biased in favor of a few classes (and against others), but I have no doubt that things will change. People leave companies and new people are hired all the time. All it takes is one Dev that mains another class and the winds of change will come. Also, its very possible that a current dev will become attached to an elite spec they worked on for another class which could easily result in that class being favored. Its also entirely possible (and likely) that the devs will accidentally make another class op with the EoD expansion. I would argue that drastic changes to the meta are incredibly likely in the near future.
XenesisII.1540
Imagine a game where there's 27 specs, it's balance devs saying they want build diversity, but end up pushing players to stacking same 3Â specs in every single group. Yay.... Â OP.. if you're just doing this for the reward track, play what you enjoy, there's no real reason to fully spec out a meta build for something that will only take 6-8 hours to complete anyways. Tag zergs and keep your participation up, it's actually not that hard to do, even to the basic kill a sentry or repair a wall. Â
