Huge holes have appeared in the neck of the thin charr body type

Recommended Posts

I noticed when logging into my thin female charr today: there are huge gaping holes in her neck. If her shoulder and chestpiece cover the holes you cannot tell. But take the armor off, or wear an armor set that shows her lower neck and shoulders, and the gaping holes are there. Please fix this issue.

Can confirm this also started happening with my male Sylvari, slender body type. The back of the neck yawns open like the head is trying to escape. Another neat trick is that when a Sylvari wears the Sailor's Beanie it removes the ears (because hat) and just leaves a hole clear from one side of the skull to the other, so that's neat.

Not game-breaking; definitely weird though.

That's weird it's happening on the thin sylvari too. I wonder if all the skinny body types are glitching out? I'm going to go check.

I have found out something interesting. This glitch only appears on skinny female charr who were ALREADY skinny. When previewing an already-skinny female charr in the aesthetician, she KEEPS the glitch even when giving her heavier body types. On the other hand, a heavy female charr that does NOT have the glitch, does not show the glitch when choosing the skinny body in the aesthetician preview.

I could not see the male sylvari glitch because I don't have a thin male sylvari to begin with, and thus, when changing my sylvari's sex and build in the makeover kit, I am given an un-glitched version.

Thin male human and thin male charr do not have the glitch.

Is there anyone with a thin female sylvari, female human, and thin male/female of the other races who can check their character for glitching around the neck and shoulders?

(Also, I wonder: if I were to change my charr to male in the makeover kit, then buy another makeover kit and change her back to thin female, would the glitch be fixed? It appears it may be)

The issue is not with the thin body type for female charr, it's to do with the neck seam for the lynx-cheeked face option, the same one both of the earlier screenshots in this thread have. It -only- appears on that face, and appears regardless of body size, though it's the most prominent on the thinnest shape. I've reported the bug in-game too, but who knows when it'll see a fix, if it ever does. (Disappointingly, today's patch hasn't come with one.)

It's pretty aggravating, as it stands I had to makeover kit one of my charr to have an entirely different face, reworked her whole fashion over it, too. I've another charr with the lynx face who has the same problem, but I've managed to keep the -horrendously- wide open seam hidden through fashion choices.

Ugh, yeah you are right. IDK what's going on with that other user's sylvari, but I would not be surprised to find it's tied to the face as well. That's really depressing... the lynx face already has tons of glitches... for instance the eye holes in charr helmets don't go over the lynx face eyes, but above them. Similarly, most eye-glow effects float ABOVE the lynx eyes, making it have the appearance of glowing eyebrows.

Unfortunately, I have two charr using the lynx face and that face is FAR too tied to their character, personality, and look--I cannot redesign them. One of my lynx charr is a light-armor wearer using heavy robes, so you can't tell... but that one in the screenshot uses the Raven chestpiece and no shoulder pieces.

This is a new glitch, so  I HOPE HOPE HOPE they fix it, but the fact the lynx face already has so many other problems they HAVEN'T fixed (even though it's a makeover kit face you have to BUY) makes me worried. My lynx charr in the screenshot has been with me since HoT released, and she is one of my most-played, most-beloved characters. I am really disappointed.

This is an old screenshot of the character from before the glitch appeared. https://64.media.tumblr.com/94dafec680fbd1ad44bf4c73b7fe50ff/6f037fe84c55bb5c-15/s1280x1920/0e46d20494430ac6c58e11465e42c2ada04cd162.jpg

It's definitely the lynx looking face. My lynx girl has the same gaps on either side of the neck no matter which body type I preview at an aesthetician.

Can also confirm that it definitely wasn't always around.

I'm just glad she currently uses a look that doesn't show her shoulders and neck, so I at least am not aware of it most of the time.
