Hard no to both. I find the former generic and repetitive, and the later genuinely unpleasant.  Electronic music doesn't belong in GW2, even the partial scifi-esque themes of the Asura doesn't lend well to such music.  Plus, as mentioned, having to pay royalties to the copyright holders.  Very hard no. 

Just listen to your own playlists if you really want to hear this stuff in game and leave the rest of us out of it.

Headsets and playlists were created for a reason.  Please use them.  Nope and nope to both, doesn't fit well to my ear.

The Dry Top and Silverwastes music was extremely powerful music performed by a live ochestra considering of something like a hundred people, if my memory of the videos the devs released is correct, though it was a long time ago.

 

In fact, almost all the music in the game is live recorded, and they try to avoid digital music whenever possible unless they don't have a choice (e.g studio not available during pandemic, and a few other times during LS3, etc.).

 

You think they'd replace that with anything else?
