Should Herald be buffed in PvE

  1. 1. Should (and how) Herald be buffed in PvE?

    • Yes - in his dps output
    • Yes - in his team utility (especially for 5 man groups)
    • No - he is fine as is
    • Herald OP - nerf it

It is no secret that in revenant section of the forum i started a very heated topic about giving herald 5 man quickness (later changed to alac). But that may have been jumping the gun. Firstly what needs to be done before we get to "how to do it" is deciding if anything needs to be done for Herald at all.

And it's only fair that everyone interested gets a say, and not just Revenant forums that may be quite biased one way (herald fans) or the other (renegade mains that don't want a meta shift).

In my personal opinion things look grim for herald in endgame PvE, especially in 5 man content (Fractals).

His dps benchmarks aren't looking pretty - 30k dps (see here) ways behind most of competition, let alone renegade (41k).

In terms of team utility it's also pretty lackluster. His support features are run of the mill, but he shines by providing them in wide area and up to 10ppl at once, making him a pretty decent "off-support" in raids and strikes.

But removed from that setting and put into a 5 man group he has next to nothing to one-up any other support, and as we know smaller groups = less wiggle room for under performers and fringe roles.

That is why I belive Herald needs some love, especially in end game 5 man group setting. But the voice and vote are yours and I'm not the one who decides in the end.

As I told you in your agenda thread, it's 30K DPS running Draconic Echo and Assassin's Presence. If you run Notoriety and upkeep skills with Forceful Persistence it is in line with other power DPS (+13% or +4% per facet Forceful Persistence only affects strike damage = power damage).

Nope, it's fine as it is, the build you're linking to in snowcrows isn't even listed as a pure dps build, it's a supportive build and you know why, so you also know why the dps buff isn't needed there. If you want some 'pure dps' then just pick accordingly.
