How does Shroud interact with Weapon sigils?

Yes, shroud will trigger these sigils. If you look here under weapon swap sigils:

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil

it says:

Quote

this includes changing elementalist attunements, legend swap, entering death shroud, ...

You have to be aware that these sigils have a 9s cooldown, however, so if you are swapping weapons and going into death shroud within that 9s window, the sigil won't activate twice. Similarly, you'll want to stay in death shroud for 9s so the sigil will activate when you leave death shroud.

As long as this sigil is on the active weapon when you enter shroud, it will be active while you're in shroud.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to clarify. Since Shroud replaces weapon skills, I was wondering: well, I'm not using my weapon technically, so do my sigils even work?

I appreciate your help!

I always found it weird that (non-weapon swap) Sigils continue their function when entering Death or Reaper's Shroud, since those are weapon swaps.

I don't know which weapon Death Shroud is coded as,

but Reaper's Shroud is coded as a hammer (its kills count towards the achievement for killing enemies with a hammer).

Non-weapon swap sigils stay active because you're swapping from a weapon with that sigil to a hammer (why anet???) with the same sigil, and back to the original weapon with that sigil when you exit shroud, so the effect remains active. It's the same principle of losing bloodlust stacks when entering into water, but keeping them if your aquatic weapon also has bloodlust sigil equipped. Weapon swap, but sigils stay.

Likewise, if you have a swap sigil such as cleansing, you switch from e.g. axe with cleansing to hammer with cleansing > sigil triggers, and then you return back to axe with cleansing > sigil triggers but only if the 9s ICD has expired.
