How to de-target/un-target when in Action Camera mode.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I recently started fooling around with Action Camera mode, since I actually love the feature, its more in-line with other action rpgs I'm used to playing compared to the original point and click.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to de-target/un-target current target, guidance will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi, I tried. right clicking. doesn't work for de-targeting in Action Camera mode.

Edit: It does work on de-targeting things like WvW walls, but mid fight targeting hostiles I just can't seem to make it work.

Thanks for the help guys, guess its not a feature yet.. hope they add it in the future.

What I did figure out is if I rotate the camera away from the target, skills  (example Warrior's Rush) won't home in even if I have a target locked. It will instead dash in the location I'm facing.

This is only provided my target is not visible on my screen, if the target happens to get into my screen again (example Mesmer Im trying to get away from Blinks into the direction I'm facing), the skill will lock on to them again.

Weird, I tried it on a regular mob in shiverpeaks earlier and it worked fine.

Aim at mob and right click, it targets it. Aim next to the mob (ie on the ground) and right click, it detargets it.

Then you dident use action cam no mouse in that mode only a dot in the middle of your screen.

Of course I was using action cam, I have it on a keybind for when I want to shoot my pistols up in the air for various reasons. Dont ask. You control the dot with the mouse, shoot with left and as I stated target/detarget with the right.

I play exclusively in action camera mode.

Right click on a target to make it the active target.  Right click empty space to untarget.  This includes targeting and untargeting allies and objects.  You can right click a chest and it prioritizes it for the interact key.

When in combat, I normally target my feet or target the sky directly above real quick if I need to untarget for any reason.  It's the easiest way for me.

Again, untargeting is clicking "blank" space, meaning that no enemy, ally, or object is in your reticle.

Thanks for the advice guys.. like stated just have to right click on open space to de-target, just that I find it a bit clunky mid-fight specially with multiple opponents, pets, clones, etc.. takes some getting used to.

Forgot to mention this because I do this second nature as well when I play.

esc key also detargets.  I didn't check if the key can be remapped, but you should look at the shortcut key menu to see.
