[spoilers] EoD preview: the NICE things

Okay, since some have already started to voice their disappointment, I'd like to do the opposite for a change and list what I liked from the preview stream:

 

 

Aetherblades:

 

Okay, I am not a fan of steam punk elements in the GW universe (although I find it less intrusive then asuran technology), but I can see how that might make for an interesting angle, depending on how they will be made part of the story. Mai Trin returns - interesting!

 

If the story is multilayered and the tech part won't be the main storyline, I can see this as an interesting addition.

 

 

Fishing & Skiffs

 

Personally, this wasn't high on my wishlist, but the way it was presented made it sound like a lot of fun! So I am looking forward to it.

 

Not sure what the skiff masteries will do, but I'll wait to hear more before I judge it. Anything regarding water is always a plus in my book.

 

 

Turtles

 

I always found those "I want to take my buddy for a ride!" posts kind of silly, but siege turtles are a completely different story when it comes to co-op mounts!

 

I am super curious to learn more about their concept as co-op mounts and how it's going to work in practice.

 

 

Elite Specs

 

Something in their grins leads me to believe that we might see the return of familiar profession names among them... hmmmm.

 

 

Graphics/Cutscenes

 

I've noticed an immense improvement in the overall quality of those. Better lighting and shadows that play well together, more detail in textures, great character detail in the the cutscenes. Though the toxic green grass is not my thing, I applaud the beauty of the rest of what we saw.

 

Can't wait for more details on the city and the Echovald!

 

 

Strike Missions

 

Yes, yes, and YES!! Making new ones, better ones, more challenging ones = 👍

Im happy with everything revealed. I just hope we get at least as many maps as PoF.

The replayability note is good to hear. The toxic green grass is a bit annoying to me too though

 

I was awaiting some detail about The Dragon, but theres a cool concept pic after the stream with a giant tentacle attacking a tower which looked cool.

 

Siege Turtle, skiffs and fishing are three things I wanted so no complaints here

That was a beautiful piece of art.  Look more closely though, I think it's a long dragon, not a tentacle, look at the far end.

 

I liked a lot of what I saw as well.  This is not the thread to say what I found less than complete joy in, so let's focus on:  beautiful setting, new skills, co-op mount (maybe the first of many?), new customization (pleeease for more than humans), intriguing looks at Canthan jade tech, fantastic voice actors, enough info on two elite specs for me to design a couple of alts asap to use up my piles of tomes, etc.  I even love the Aurene statue, though I won't be getting it because my house is teetering on the edge of a pack rat collapse into hoarding, I simply need to M Kondo the place in drastic ways, and a pretty knick knack isn't a wise purchase.

Yeah I had a second though it might be a tail. Either way it reassured me the Dragon actually exists in the expansion and might be an evil one
