Firebeard.1746
I was surprised to see my old payment information when I went to go purchase EoD on the website. I don't like having my payment information saved on websites in general and I couldn't find a way to delete anything. It looks like the shop is auto-saving any payment information I'm entering and I don't like that behavior. Is there any way for me to delete my information after completing my purchase? Zaoda.1653
I'm not sure why it had that either. When I went to buy the EOD expansion, it had the credit card info already loaded which was creepy - because in the past when I buy gems, I've always made sure it's unticked - incase someone ever hacked my computer, they couldn't just do anything with the details - so I find it creepy that Anet has this credit card information already loaded without my permission/authority to do so. It also even has my old address - we've since moved. So why is Anet storing all of our personal information including address and credit card details? Very creepy! Inculpatus cedo.9234
Mine had an expired credit card. I imagine it is Digital River that does the 'saving', not ArenaNet.
JustTrogdor.7892
Just took a look at EoD costs and logging in to the purchase page it had my info and a credit card I have have not used for some time saved. Probably from previous purchase but I never click the save info box during a purchase. I make a point of making sure the save CC info option is never selected with all my online purchases. I've used other cards since then so found it odd that info was saved. I submitted a ticket asking them to remove that info because I never asked for it to be saved and given all the data breaches these days I also consider it a security risk. Will see how that turns out. Edited July 28, 2021 by JustTrogdor.7892
Healix.5819
Pretend to buy gems with a credit card. On the page to enter your billing information, there's a link under the "save this card" box to remove your information.

I guess my question for Anet and I guess Digital River is why they saved my old CC info to start with when I know for a fact I never selected the option to save it. Edit: That didn't work. Went in game clicked the link to remove in the gem purchase window, clicked yes, logged out, went to the GW2 shop website went through the same steps after clearing cookies and data from the browser used and the CC info was still there. Oh and the buy page says it is a save from 2019. Then it has a drop down menu with a whole long list of saves. Not cool IMO since I never once asked for that. At this point I'm guessing it is a Digital River thing. I'll wait to see what support says. Edited July 28, 2021 by JustTrogdor.7892
Kaliwenda.3428
The credit union I belong to has a refillable card that processes just like a regular credit card, with your name and address associated with it. It's not like a pre-paid one that some places don't accept. I use it for purchases like this now after having the same issue with Digital River saving credit card info against my wishes for a different MMO I used to play. Yeah my main card offers virtual numbers for online purchases. I guess if I buy things from Anet again I'll be using that after what I have seen.
