Kendahna.9542
Hello, I recommended the game for a friend, he tried different classes and builds but he soon lost interest saying that the profession role changes on elite specialization. TBH am not a fan myself of the elite specialization (well, not all of them), I quit the game soon after HoT , came back on PoF with an open mind and stuck with the game for a while, but I had to start over a new profession for that, I ditched my main mesmer for it, so my question is, is it feasible to remain on core build (same weapon/skills I guess mostly?) for raids/fractals more specifically? As for open world I know its not issue, you can be whatever you like and want, my downside bout it recently is the icebrood saga, I couldn't and still cant digest it.... which is another subject anyway :) Would appreciate any input, thank you! AliamRationem.5172
Elite specs only add options, with the exception of druid which is a downgrade from other ranger specs unless you want to heal. For example, firebrand can serve as a healer where core guardian doesn't, but it's also a better DPS spec. Renegade can serve as boon support, but is again a better DPS spec than revenant. So, unless your friend's issue is that he doesn't like the way any of the elite specs play (or he's playing a ranger and unlocked druid...in which case, tell him to unlock soulbeast instead!), there shouldn't be any difference in which roles the class can play by taking the elite specs. You'll just perform better in most cases. 2
