Lawtider.9024
Siege Turtle? Co-Op Skiffs? Co-Op Now two examples are not a trend, but we have not seen the other Mastery tracks. I think this a good direction. 1
Rose.2593
You can use the Skiff on your own - having others is optional. But yeah I guess the siege Turtle will need two players - its wvw anyway.

Dawdler.8521
You're telling me I'm going to have to play EoD with other players? O____O This isnt what I signed up for, I want a refund!

Ayrilana.1396
It all just feels like a bunch of “meh” features based on what they have revealed so far. The co-op feature of the siege turtle feels more like a gimmick rather than something that will add any value. There may be some content in the expansion that could require it but outside I don’t see it being useful. How fast do you think those turtles would move? I don’t recall them moving all that fast in GW1. Or is there Cantha technology tied to a mastery where you strapped rockets onto them? We have skimmer, and can also swim, so the skiffs really are more of something just to AFK on similar to the moving boats in Sandswept and Labrythine Cliffs. Fishing, outside of the achievement to collect all of the fish, feels like “something to do” when AFK. 2 1

I see this posted about the forums but it isnt possible to fish AFK without using a bannable bot program. 1

Obviously someone who is following the rules will not be truly AFK but fishing generally doesn’t provide any value. So you catch fish. Then what? Use them for food recipes? How would those compete with already existing ascended platters? Edited July 29, 2021 by Ayrilana.1396
Lawtider.9024
I think it is mostly "Optional" Co-Op. And I think Heart of Thorns basically only had the glider and the introduction of Elite Specialization. We did not complain about those back in the day, and we do not know what more is to come and what you can do with it all.

Fish can be used in potions foods oils alchemy ect, and you can fish up items to vendor or rare items to use. No lie a guildmate of mine in wow fished up a couple of epic weapons. Fishing is fun and profitable depending on how its implemented. Forgot to add how they do casting and reeling baiting and fighting the fish matters. Because in some games fishing is fun because there are animations and things you do. Edited July 29, 2021 by Zuldari.3940

As far as I can tell, you should be able to use the Siege Turtle fully (including weaponry) without other players. The pre-rendered model of the Siege Turtle during the Livestream showcased a single player's seat with the lasers still available, so I'm assuming the Mastery allows us to unlock the ability to carry other players around later down the line.

In order for there to be demand for the fish, there would have to be demand for something that requires them. It’s highly unlikely that would be cooking due to ascended platters which I already brought up. What else would there be?

Seriously dude? when a company adds something thats a new resource to a game, it generally follows there will be a new trade in that resource. At least recipes, and coin from vendor junk. I wont be surprised to see a new craft prob something to do with fish oils and jade. Or a currency

I said it could be profitable depending on how they interface it in the xpac. They could add a new crafting proff, which is what im hoping. They could add new recipes from cantha that require it. Or like i said a currency. This is a new land with new customs trade currency social and political structure, and different trades then we have. So it kinda makes sense that fishing will have a place in that.
Tyncale.1629
There is a lot of coop content in the game, not all of it succesful. Dungeons abandoned, Raids are Elite for a small group, Strikes are a bust and have become elite for a small group, Dragon response missions are boring. Only fractals remain and those are also for a smaller group, certainly not for everyone. Best coop in this game for me are the open world meta's and Dynamic events, where everyone can seamlessly join in. This was the biggest draw for me, back when I learned about GW2 before it was released. I do not like forced grouping and I am not alone. I always figured GW2 had found the answer for me with meta's and DE's. I am sure the fishing can be fun with a group, but this is not going to be big game-changer for a large part of the playerbase. I am hoping Fishing itself is like the best mini-game a MMO has ever implemented. If anyone can do it, it is Anet.

It does make sense that it can have a role. This wasn’t ever in question. What was in question was whether that role would be profitable for fishing in the long term. The obvious usage through cooking is unlikely due to ascended food. Fishing would likely go the same direction as the other activities including beetle racing. Just have to hope anet foresaw this and makes it worthwhile. Maybe a petition or thread to ask them to make something of this new addition as a new craft or something.

XD Me too but some I was sad that you do need more than one player cause they have to stand on stones to open gates, etc.. that was one of the fractals as I started to play alone as I dont have the gear yet from what I read I can play until level 17 and I can still get the potions while I collect them +1s and start building my gear. What got my attention from this game was no trilogy is needed ( no tank, healer, dps) to still enjoy what GW2 has and I wish I started a few years ago as I left the MMO trilogy and dont get me wrong I still had fun in RIFT, WAR, AION, etc, but I then took a break and started playing FPS games for a while. Now I am back to these MMOs. On my list I have GW2 , ESO, and New World so I started with GW2 and so far I do like this game alot and can see why many players still play this game.
