If we already know what the legendaries look like and they're all themed after the same thing, why are we just getting a voucher upon completion? I mean I guess they might not be finished yet, but I'm just thinking the season 2 and 3 return to living world campaigns will be over in a few weeks, we'll have our vouchers, and then we're just waiting another 5 months for a legendary that's already been revealed?

I mean we have the amulet so that's cool, just wondering why the wait when they're all themed after the same thing anyway.

And even if we did (we don't), I don't quite understand your quesiton -obviously we can't get a reward that's not out yet. Also don't see what the theme has to do with it all?

Most likely the legendaries will require materials from EoD so there'd be no way to complete them anyway. Doing it as a voucher and no precursor until release means support won't have to deal with people who transmuted them or destroyed them, which would definitely happen with several months between getting a precursor and being able to upgrade it. A voucher can just be an internal flagging for an account so, barring a bug, it's set and forget. With an actual item, human error will happen and it's better for support to be free for other bugs rather than reinstating lost items come EoD's release.

 

And like you said, odds are not everything is done yet given we only saw one weapon in action.

 

Plus Anet said they wanted to keep some things secret until EoD's released.

Unlocking the voucher will give us a precursor choice box on EoD launch. We aren't getting it yet, because we're likely to simply put it in the mystic forge with the three gifts to make it a legendary right away.
