Why can't i move the 80 level boost to the bank

Recommended Posts

The boosters and slots included in the last two expansions behaved this way as well, presumably because they think people will want a fresh lvl 80 character with one of the upcoming expansion specs on it and will therefore use the item right away once the inventory slot appears. There is no way to separate them but to use the boost.

Personally, I think it's silly to chain the two together the way they have, but at least it's consistent. Or something.

I wasted it (used on a lvl 80 char) on HoT, I wasted it on PoF and should I preorder EoD I likely will waste it as well.

The only advantage over birthday scrolls + Tomes is that you don't have to open these 80 lvlup chests.

But with birthday scrolls + Tomes I probably have around 10 lvl 80 chars lying in the bank already anyway.

I still have mine and will use it after I level my 5 toons. I did use it to have an idea how my build can be for a race/profession if it was at level 80. A few were okay and I kept that build others not so good and I went to metabattle to get an idea there and made my own build based on the way I play. I do plan to use my lvl 80 after the EOD expansion.

Wait. I'm pretty sure my level 80 boosts from both HoT and PoF came with a free shared inventory slot (so they were available and ready to use for all my characters) so i didn't have to move the booster anywhere. Did they change that?

EDIT: Oh wait, i misunderstood. Forget what i said.

My guess is it's because it's likely to be the first important item new players get (because you get one when you buy the game) and therefore it would be the most commonly lost/deleted item players would care about and the one support would get the most requests to replace. I think Anet preemptively fixed the problem by making it impossible to lose or delete it.
