Advice for choosing build

Hi all 🙂

I want to gear my engineer and use a correct build, but I really don't know where to start so I need your advice.

My "perfect" build would be:

• Playable / useful in fractals, raids and open world (no niche build)
• I don't care if it's dps or support or anything as long as I can play with this build the 3 modes mentionned. But the thing is I already have pure dps class geared, so one that can bring utility to a group (maybe quickness or so) can be better to have more posibilities of changing character in a group.

Some told me that Power Holosmith (Sword) can be good for this 3 games modes, what do you think?

Its meta power dps but won’t bring any support to the group. For fractals, there’s a scrapper quickness build going around but won’t do any good any open world or raids to my knowledge. 
 

As far as open world, anything really goes. Depending on the content and solo or not, going full berserker and scholar runes can get dicey (strictly solo speaking) but then some would say get gud. Honestly, metabattle has a lot of variation in the open world section for engi and is good for casual gamers. Engi is quite flexible.

I would say on Engi its hard to go wrong gearing up with a Berserker set. You can get a set of Devona's even to start for about 3g + runes, etc. Anyway, with a set of Berserker's and a sword/[Shield or pistol] and maybe a rifle too you can do power holo as Zero suggests above. Additionally, if you also get a diviner's hammer and ring you could, basically, use the same gear setup for Power Quickness Scrapper. That would give you a very good dps build on most raid bosses, fractals, etc and also a quickness support option for the same. EIther can also be very solid in OW or what ever. Condi Holo is a bit harder to play correctly and heal scrapper would be overshadowed by HealBrand allot of the time.
