Last 2 masteries for EOD?

Recommended Posts

I would say, keep on dreaming, and then I would dream right along with ya on the Housing. 🙂

I think the 4th Mastery will have to do with that Dragonjade stuff, and the 5th will be something gimmicky probably.

While Tengu and player housing were my top two features I was hoping for, you're theory is just wishful thinking. They've hinted that one of the two will be dragonjade technology related. Also having a playable race as a mastery would be very weird, housing zi could maybe see it but it's unlikely.

I am holding a very, very, very small glimmer of hope that Tengu will be a surprise like the Griffin mount was, but it's a Longshot.

Also I've conceded that I'll just have to buy the new guild hall with my personal guild as a substitute for a player housing experience in gw2.

I also got the feeling that the new Guildhall will be easier to obtain for a small group, possibly even solo by a Veteran. It also looks very pretty, and the guy kept on going about how he was looking forward to how people would decorate it. So I was thinking maybe they are throwing the "I want  Housing" folks a bone, by giving them an easily attainable guildhall. Unfortunately, earning guildpoints or whatever they are called would still require a tremendous amount of group-related activities before you can really fill out your Guildhall, so maybe not.  Also, totally not the sort of Housing I had in mind.

The two masteries are probably not exciting, which is why they didn't show them during the livestream. If they had something like a new playable race or some huge housing feature to reveal they likely would have showed them front and center with fishing/skiffs as more of, "but wait there's more!"

If they didn't start preorders I would say it's a possibility things will be revealed later but they're banking on the news they gave today to start selling immediately. And honestly a lot of people will buy it just to have new elite specs/new maps/Cantha nostalgia anyway and realized that so they didn't push for any larger features this time around.

If anything, I'd say there's a slight possibility that "skiffs" will be upgradable to be large ships and serve the personal housing issue but even if they did I don't think it would be customizable.

As far as the other two masteries, dragonjade is likely one. I'm imagining this as an ability/buff augmenting mastery similar to the masteries we received in IBS.

The last mastery I'm imagining to be somekind of either faction reward/unlocking mastery similar to what we had with the Itzel in HoT or somekind of movement mastery like people mentioned about using the "bubbles" to float the tops of cliffs. There's also unannounced zones and I have a feeling the last mastery may be tied to the Jade Sea zone where we see Kunavang and their tower.

I'd love surprises like the Griffon but I'm not expecting them. I like the airship idea but in reality, we already have skyscales that can hover in midair, so outside of being a multi-passenger hovering device that has free flight but moves so slow there's no point in traversing large distances I'm not sure what the point of it would be. Though it would be cool to ascend to the highest point easily on your airship, mount your griffon/skyscale and just zoom across the map.

I don't think they're revamping the upgrades or any of the systems. Scribing will still be a mess and crazy expensive, you'll still need hundreds of gold worth of mats to upgrade the arena/scribing/market/etc.

They didn't even add PoF music to Windswept with its release so I'm not holding my breath on this being anything other than just another map. They kept saying "plenty of space" but we'll see. I know people didn't like Gilded or Precipice because of how large they are but I hope this new one is as large as those with lots of neat little areas and caves. Windswept is extremely difficult to decorate with how wonky and curved the terrain is.

Omg, how lame would that be. Some barely noticable buff tied to very limited content, or worse: masteries that "unlock" the full potential of looting a chest.  😒

Oh... I had understood that the masteries were:

- traveling turtle

- fishing

- skiff

As for the 4th, granted that they have yet to unravel all the e-specs, I thought they would talk about along with revelling one of the e-specs. From my understanding they still have much to talk about.

It would be, but that's exactly what I'm expecting, thus why they didn't tease them during the livestream.

I suppose it's possible a mastery could be related to a henchman system still, but that seems like a pretty big feature to not reveal and in this game when would you really need them anyway?

I would like Henchmen for Dungeons and Fractals but I can understand that people would not want Fractals killed by that.

The most fun that I got from Henchmen(or rather Heroes) in GW1 though was the endless mixing and matching of my group to get the most efficient one.  But yeah, barely needed, or a killer of the group content we have left.  Open World certainly does not need Henchmen.

Honestly why tengu? They would have to develop all new rigging for armor. . The whole bird thing isnt that appealing, Kodan are though and even dwarf. There are not a lot of race choices in GW2 unlike some games that have an abundance of sentient races to make into playable characters. What about the Mursaat? Ancient race part bird part human all floaty. i think the meeting with the commander in the egg chamber with the mursaat, is a good beginning to have them as part of the playable races. Jory goes off to keep and eye on him and to study their magic that interest her so much. They could be brought into the alliance of races. And easier to rig for armor.

yes I read that was bal , but still the mursaat are out of phase with tyria what if they did reemerge

5 masteries.

-Siege turtle

-Boats

-Fishing

-Canthan writings/culture to unlock merchants

(Hence the news posts about canthan script)

-And finally Dragonjade studies. Maybe to unlock skills like bloodstone aerial skills but on ground.
