Turtle Taxi

Recommended Posts

I searched but got no hits. With the upcoming 2-person mount, will we start to see taxi services offered, reminiscent of the old runs to LA in GW1? Or will the passenger need to have some level of turtle mastery as well?

If not, what about alt accounts? Can I then taxi alt account characters to Orr or where ever?

I honestly do not understand the attraction of hopping on a multi-person mount and let yourself drive around by another player, or even a friend, not even if I was the ultimate noob with only a FTP account and no mounts. This game invites you to explore yourself, at your own pace. The zones are also small and have a billion waypoints per zone. You can take a noob through a couple of zones and show him zones that are above his level. Is that fun?

And how many newbies without mounts are there, really? I hope that Anet has something surprising up their sleeve with these multiperson mounts, because letting yourself drive around in a MMO is not it.

If you don't like it, don't use it. Easy, no need to take the fun out for everyone else

If I had to guess there will probably be meta events, achievements, rewards etc that require using the 2 person mount with 2 people.  I don't think Anet put the effort in making it just as some sort of optional thing.  They are going to want to "force" people to use it somehow.

I can’t think of anything in this game where you would need someone to taxi you which would make the mount useful. With the speed and functionality it’ll likely have, I see it as nothing more of a gimmick mount in order to have a feature to sell the expansion.

I doubt there will be the same demand as GW1 taxis to LA, Droks Runs, Consulate Docks etc. because people wanted to get to those locations to get top tier equipment or access to all the city facilities, but you can get both in GW2 without needing to go to a specific location. Plus there's other options like the teleport to friend.

I'm sure we'll see some people carrying their friends around for faster/easier map completion but I doubt there will be specific destination with high demand.

How "fast" is a *siege* turtle going to be anyway? I think its purpose will mostly be combat and slight maneuverability in fights, driver escape AoE while gunner blasts bosses or whatever it's going to be used as.

I can already see events full of turtles, ugh... I hope they make the damage weak and maybe use them as an engage or CC...

I doubt it'll be a fun taxi ride with a slow kitten lizard hauling you for Eternity...

I mean, some of my best memories of games like halo have been from sitting in the passenger seat. It depends on the map design and the weapon controls - if the turtle played like the tank from visions of steel, for example, I think it has the potential to be fun.

If we don't see :

        Event map:

Half of population spawn at east and the other on west .

Doing events feed/lvl up a Guild's Turtle , in order to become Gigantic and behave as a "moving Castle" with 20 cannons son top

and their goal is to l try to capture the mid of the map .

The rest of the population can equip 3 things:

                     a) Shield that does bodyblock + knockback-Spear Combo (spartan)

                    b) Toy Ranged Gun

                    c) Axe or  Creepers that can easily bypass/hop form the Shield Guys . If they do enought damage/stacks they unlcok

                       improved slow forms

Turtles can bite each other (if they eveeeer reach their oponent , but they do less dps based on how many stack from the creepers they have

...i will whine...

Edit: each group can choose 3 paths/events  along the way .

The first increase its speed (avoid/kite other turtle)

The second faster lvl up the turtle (becoming the first to go in mid and capture it) , but you gain less guns and HP

The 3rd improves the Axe/Gun/Shiled , and opens other events to improve forms

edit2: Or Turtle vs Turtle and each Guild have unlocked 5 Giants that will try to utflank/souround the enemy turtle , while each zerg will try to slow/dps them  (no zerg player see other as enemy -each will try to dps their Target Giant )
