How to purchase GW2 as a gift

When I go to make the purchase, it asks me to log in with my account. That makes it seem like it is just going to add it to my account.

Can someone provide detailed instructions for purchasing as a gift, please?

I would like to buy 5 keys for 5 friends.

You can buy the game via one of the authorized resellers. You get a key that can be added to any account.

When purchasing outside the game (for instance, in the official website page), you will be sent a Serial Key that must be applied to an account, even your own.

So, there is no problem or worry about it applying to your account.  You are asked to login due to payment information.
