Burial.1958
So we are getting Dx11, one of the most important things for me since RLS. What about things like DLSS ? Better and modern antialiasing? More vibrant lightning? What do you guys/gals expect what Guild Wars 2 really needs! PLS stay on topic. This is just about technical and graphic aspects of the game. Fueki.4753
I already don't like the vibrant lighting in PoF and other new'ish maps. Before they introduce even more of that, I'd have them give us an option to enable core Tyria lighting everywhere. But I have absolutely no knowledge of any technical details, so I don't know if that would even be possible. I just know that the lighting makes PoF look significantly worse than core Tyria to me. phokus.8934
Not much will change other than this will give them the ability to do more with the game.
Dawdler.8521
DLSS/FSR is pretty pointless since GW2 isnt really held back by GPU power, it's just poor optimisation. There is nothing GW2 "really need" but there is one noticable engine related thing that will be incredibly meh in EoD unless Anet completely revamp that part of the engine - the water. With the addition of ships, no matter how small they are, water should have true physics that interact with the ships. Right now the water is either a static plane or it got some preanimated waves. Yeah they can dump a static ship gliding around on that but we already know Anet dont know how to ship - the one sailing from Claw Island is probably still waaaaaaaay too low in the water after 9 years, at least it wouldnt surprise me if they havent fixed that. Unfortunetly I have a creeping suspicion they're not going to go that extra distance. It would also be nice if DX11 meant some things actually become usable without extreme pull downs of performance, such as full shadows. Faridah.8431
I agree that DLSS is not needed as GW2 can essentially be played on a potato GPU and will otherwise be held back by CPU performance due to DX9 and how poorly optimized the game is for multi-thread and such. DX11 hopefully gives them the opportunity to better optimize for modern hardware. DLSS is only really needed for Raytracing and I really don't see a reason for them to focus on that as a feature any time soon.
