Test if TCP ports 80, 443, and 6112 are accesseble

Recommended Posts

Is there a way i can test if those ports are accessible? I have Error 42 constantly https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015860488 and i did added the game to Windows Firewall exeptions like its described here https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015788327 , nothing changed, so i asked my ISP to check the ports and they responded that they do not filter any ports. I dont use any anivirus software or some networking software.

P.S.: would be so nice if the game launcher had an ability to tell if all necessary ports accessible before launching the game. (e.g. "ready check"):

[ok] login server

[ok] game server

[failed] TCP ports -- cannot access port XXXX

...because its so frustrating, i can hit Play button, select character, i can login to game world, but i get the message of error 42 from time to time while playing and doing things. sometimes it disconnects, but 4/5 times i can just close that message and continue play.

I'm getting this all the time as well. It takes me 10 minutes to sell 3 items on the black market because of it. I've tried using shortcut command lines to try all 3 ports and it's the same thing there.

Things done:

  • Tried those ports with shortcut commands and did not work.
  • Scanned for Malware.
  • Firewall and Anti-Virus turned off / added to exception.
  • Called ISP and they denied blocking ports.

Issue comes and goes. For several straight days it wasn't allowing me access to BLTC at all and game was getting stuck on each loading screen. Then it disappeared for about a day and started coming back. Now I can sort of use social features and BLTC but I get spammed by the error message.

I also suddenly started getting Error 42 messages in-game. Came back to the game about a month ago and was on my merry way until today. Nothing was changed in my network either. I can play other games just fine.

I followed the steps provided in support, all ports forwarded, firewall rule, restarted modem, etc. but sadly no luck.

I can still stay connected and do things though? Its very strange.
