Legendary Skin

Recommended Posts

I tried Google searching this already but I get mixed answers and some answers are from 2014 so I'm not risking that.

I want to craft Twilight but it would be better if I could just unlock the skin and sell it.
Gw2 wiki says you can only get the skin unlock by 'removing it from the economy', but I've seen other posts saying you'll get the skin upon crafting it from the Mystic Forge. But the wiki says the skin unlock only comes from 'Using the item in the Mystic Forge'.

Otherwise if I can't do the above, I guess I'll need to craft two Twilights. It would be cheaper for me to sell the first crafted Twilight, buy Dusk from TP (since it's a collection item), and then craft Twilight again and accountbind correct?

It only comes from binding it to account.

Why other skins come from the forge is that you destroy them item so you cant sell it hence unlocking them then.

You used to be able to bind twilight and dawn ( for the skins) then sell eternity but after legendary armory update that is not possible anymore.

Why is it cheaper for you to craft two twilights and buy dusk instead of crafting 1 of each tho?

Thanks Linken, the info helps.
Knowing this, I would then want two Legendaries. One for the skin, the other to sell cause I want gold.
I thought it'd be cheaper to craft two Twilights because I already have the recipes for it unlocked. But perhaps it's cheaper to go for another legendary instead, so that way I can get the precursor from an unfinished collection and not have to buy it from TP. Right?

Im not sure how you came to that result.   Theres a 154g difference in crafting price buying and selling. Which is more than all the other gen1 legendaries have.

To potentially allay some confusion - I think you guys are talking about two different things.

Dusk is the most profitable precursor to craft and sell (optimal +163g as I write this).

Twilight is showing as the 2nd least profitable legendary, just ahead of Sunrise.

How is Twilight the second least proffitable? I think im not understanding which numbers you are using to get that result.

They are ordered on the gw2 efficiency site in a rank of most to least profitable to craft and sell. Profit is the green number with a + sign in the rightmost column on the gw2efficiency site.  You make +459 gold as it shows right now if you buy all the mats on buy order (first column) and sell at lowest listing (rightmost column).  Click on any of the items to see the breakdown and precise calculation.

If you're looking at the difference between crafting price (sell) and crafting price (buy), that isn't the profit from making and selling the legendary.  The first two columns show the difference between using buy orders to acquire the materials vs. buying the materials needed to craft it from the lowest sell listing.

ah, that makes more sense, thank you.
