This message system, honestly

I can't even begin to list all the things wrong with it. So I won't.

I'll just mention the latest pet peeve.

I have a friend, we play together nearly all the time, and we mail each other stuff often. Let's say her account name is Berserker, and so for a year now all mail I had to send her is just "mail to> ber > enter", and done. But lo! A random person enters my party once! ONCE! And we don't ever, never talk, not even exchange a word in party chat! But their name is, lets say, "Berserk" and that's it. That's enough. Sending mail to my friend? Unpossible no more. He is always there, autocompleted. Undeletable. Tried to add him on my block list. Nope, still the default. Permanently unable to send my friend mail without typing her entire full name. Because I was once in a party with Berserk.

How is it like this?!

Doesn't fix your problem and adds an additional step but might be a work around.
Z (open friendlist) > Ber > Send Mail > Enter
Another workaround would be to cycle through the hits with up or down arrow keys, so if you type 'ber' and press your up or down arrow you'll probably get your friends name.
Maybe it will default to it if you cycle through? idk.

Adding steps to what is supposed to be, and was, and without warning ceased to be, a routine two-click action is not a solution.

This is not adding steps, you said you're opening mail (and then need to click "compose), type 3 letters and click enter. Compared to "pressing y > right clicking friend > left clicking send mail", your method requires more key strokes, so you're welcome. Not only that, but if you indeed keep playing together all the time, you can simply right click on friend's name in chat or party/squad and then send mail. You're just looking for problems where there's none. And, again, nothing about what I said is somehow "adding steps", it's the opposite.

Never said that. Read again.

I guess next time you want to be understood correctly, make sure to include a full command you pick.

Still not adding steps. Still a non-issue.

I mean typically most games don't auto fill at all and if you were having to type the whole name in every time like in most games there would be no complaint but because it auto fill a friend and you could type 3 letter and now have to type 7 letters it's some kind of huge issue.

Why not right-click on the friend's name on the friend's list to mail?

Do you know someone can technically create the same account name with a different number, right?

An even simpler method would be to just keep in your inbox a single message from your friend. Then when you want to mail them all you have to do is select it then choose "Reply". This has worked for me for years and saved loads of stress as I have a friend whose name starts with "Dark" and you can imagine how many have that one going on 🤪

The only thing that bothers me about mail is that I don't know how to mail people with accents in their name, using only their character name. Once, I tried to mail a prize to someone and had to do it 3 times because I didn't see the little accent above his name. So, two random people also randomly got prizes. I don't see why accents are allowed at all e_e Most people don't actually use the accents as accents. They use them because they wanted a name that was already taken.
