End of dragons Preparation pack for Belgium too!!

Alot of the time there are certain deals/packs that have good value with black lion keys or dyes. 

But because of the Belgian anti-gambling law we cannot enjoy these nice deals which feel like a bummer.

 

Now with the preparations pack for EoD it is the same...

 

I imagine there are enough people in my situation which is why I ask you:

Please make it possible for the people in belgium OR for ALL to be able to enjoy these deals without being left out.

 

I hope this can be reviewed well and that we Belgian players can be heard!

ArenaNet surely wants to sell them to you but is prohibited to do so by Belgian laws. If ArenaNet would make it possible to buy the pack in Belgium they are violating the law of your country, which they don't want to.

 

Maybe you can buy them when you are in another country and launch Guild Wars 2 there. For example, when you are visiting France or The Netherlands.

 

Or get powerful and involved in the politics by either get the Belgian law changed or get the EU to apply the Belgian law EU-wide, which would probably force ArenaNet to change the packages to no longer include RNG chance items like black lion chests.

Much like QuickFox said it's not an Anet problem it's a political problem in your country.. you have my sympathies on that as well.

I am no fan of predatory gambling stuff in games, and I certainly have a deep resentment for some companies that take the kitten with lootboxes, even to the point where I actively refuse to support them financially anymore.

But Anet is not one of those companies and it sucks that they too have been caught in a wide flung ban net that may be aimed at genuinely malicious and greedy companies but has also screwed over a lot of innocent and fair ones in the process.. just because your politicians choose to punish a concept entirely rather than the specific companies that abused it, caused the problem in the first place and were the only ones who deserved it.

And it sucks more so for the innocent gamers like yourself that have to deal with the fallout of this nonsense.
It's unfair and wrong.

If they get banned in EU, and i hope they do, i really hope they do. id be willing to bet most companies stop doing loot boxes entirely.

Yes, they probably would.
But then they'd simply move on to something else with the same companies exploiting the hell out of it and creating the same problems etc.

The only thing banning stuff like this achieves is denying beneficial revenue streams to good companies that don't abuse it and need it more.

Companies that do abuse these concepts do so out of greed, they have so much more wealth horded away anyway, so it doesn't really hurt them when they get something like lootboxes banned, it only hurts their smaller competition.. thus keeping them down.

Banning this stuff EU wide would be a terrible thing, and being an EU resident myself I have every intention of fighting such laws should they come to my country.

If you want to fight the problem with lootboxes, then you have to take a stand against those who you deem abuse the concept of them.
Much like I said in my last post, this is exactly what I do by refusing to support those companies.
If more people did that in the first place, we wouldn't have this problem and these laws would not exist.
