Kuma.1503
It is that time again to share more fun builds that you can play to have fun and throw carry your Unranked games. Today's build features a different flavor of Core engineer. http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PegAQRlJw8YhsPmKO8LvLbA-z5gfG5rASYCohB This build is when you want thief but your mom says you have thief at home. A quick explanation for why I chose the rune/amulet/traits I did. Why Demolisher over Berserker? So I don't instadie to thief and rev ports. The toughness and the bonus hp from divinity rune and blash shield give me just enough durability to survive and fight back. No Alchemy in this day and age? Alchemy is for the weak. Core engi needs as much firepower behind their attacks as they can get, so I opt for 3 dps traitlines. Defense is covered by blast shield and rune/amulet choices. How good is the damage? My goal was to hit as close to 55% crit chance as possible. This lets me hit 100% crit chance (Within 300 units of target) with fury. 55% + 15% within 300 units + 10% against bleeding targets +20% from fury = 100% This build lands at a comfy 56% crit chance. Just enough to cap. For the most part these modifiers take care of themselves. You will want to be in melee range of your target to land your hardest hitting abilities like blunderbuss and prybar. Bleeding can be applies easily with blunderbuss, elixir gun autos, or critical strikes (33% chance) The damage is solid. You play similar to a warrior. You land your CC -> Do a small burst --> land your CC --> Do a small burst --> rince repeat until the enemy is dead. Example burst. ( CC skills in Bold) Overcharged Shot --> Jump Shot into melee range --> AED Stun --> Blunderbuss --> Net Shot --> Prybar --> Pop Elixir X. If enemy is still alive, continue to CC them to death with either tornado or Rampage, denying them the chance to heal. If they blow through all of their edurance/cooldowns to survive, you can yank them back in with magnet and finish them off with blunderbuss or prybar. Your Overcharged shot should also be off cooldown by this point if you need additional lock down. If Elixir X is on cooldown you can use throw wrench and Glob shot to deal decent damage and cripple the target. Toss Elixir X and Magnet let you delay thier heal long enough for Overchared shot to come back off cooldown. Elixir X instead of Supply Crate? You can run either or. I like Elixir X into necros because you can easily land the Toss skill off of any one of your CCs and deny them their shroud reset. It also insta kills all of their minions if you land it which is always satisfying. Supply crate gives yo yet another long duration CC that you can chain into. The toolbelt skill is a nice cleanse if you have time to pick up the drops. Can it keep up with a thief? It's fast enough to prevent them from taking over the map, and it does well into thief in the 1v1/2v2 so you should be fine. The shortbow 5 nerf helps make this possbile. You've got 2 charges of rocket boots, jump shot, and acid bomb as mobility. Swiftness comes from Streamlined kits. Just pull out your kit and stow it as you run around for on demand swiftness. Does it die when focused? You've got escapes for days. Rocket boots and Overcharged shot both cleanse soft CC. You've got gear shield for a block. Toss Elixir X in the event that multiple targets are tunneled on you. Situational, but if Steamlined kits is off cooldown, the Elixir gun effect is especially helpful with the glue trail. You've got toughness and enough bonus hp to ensure you don't get instagibbed from full. ------------------------------------- That's all for now. Happy feeding!
