ruffs.3621
I want to enjoy my time and try all the content the game has to offer on a new character. Iv leveled a warrior years ago but it seems boring now. I started a Mesmer and it’s been really fun. Is a Mesmer going to be a bit too tricky for someone who isn’t new to mmos but is new to gw2? I have a lot to learn about gw2 and want to play something I enjoy which has been Mesmer but I also don’t want to overwhelm myself. My other option is necro which I have been having fun with as well. I like doing dps, and tanking in mmos Iv played in the past. I want a class that I can play in a raid eventually and in pvp that I won’t suck at lol. What I like about Mesmer is that it’s so different form anything Iv played, I have played classes like Necro before but I really like that you can attack in melee too. Iv been switching back and forth between these two and finally decided to hear other peoples opinions and recommendations

Iv been switching back and forth between these two and finally decided to hear other peoples opinions and recommendations Necro is more tanky and nesmer does more dps i d say. At least as power dps. As condi dps necro is both tankier and has better dps. Mesmer is the one i like more because of gameplay n so on. Necro (scourge) and guardian (firebrand) are knows as the "op specs" in gw2 basically. But never play a class just bc its op. Play what u like more. If it goes to how ez the classes r to master, i d say: Staff mirage > reaper > condi scourge > Condi mirage > Chronomancer That list goes from easy to not easy, where staff mirage is the easiest and chrono the hardest. Thats my own opinion obv and some might disagree. If it goes to damage i d say: Chronomancer > Scourge > reaper > condi mirage > staff mirage In this list it goes from high dmg to low dmg where Chrono is the one with highest. The most tanky one list: Scourge > staff mirage > condi mirage > reaper > Chronomancer Scourge most tanky n chrono least. Mentioning here again that everything is just my opinion. But as i said: play what u like the most and not whats the most op one. Having fun is why we all play this game right? 😄
ruffs.3621
Thank you for this break down it is very helpful! I wanted to add is it worth boosting to 80 and then doing story and expansion quests? or would it be better to just level through it
Goettel.4389
Do level, it's great, and it's a great tutorial. Mesmer is amazing and hard to learn. Necro is nice and trivial to learn. But I'm just talking about casual PvE. I love leveling necro from 1 to 80 without any armor and only lv1 weapons, just because it's so relaxing. Doing the same with Mesmer keeps me awake ; - )
