Just For Fun While We Wait on the Beta...

Recommended Posts

What is something that you have done recently in the game that you found fun, or are proud of having accomplished/finished?

Give a shout out to yourselves and brag a little bit. Did any of you recently make a legendary? Find a section of game geometry that you didn't know you could climb or walk through only to find a pretty view? World completion? Got rank 10,000 in WvW? Had a satisfying fight in PvP or WvW that you enjoyed even though you lost/almost lost?

What is your next goal(s)?

For me, I just capped my Magic Find. Super happy about that. Felt like a bigger achievement that crafting my legendaries tbh. I'll be working on 4 legendary runes next.

I completed the collections for the Aurora precursor! Now just need to grind WvW for a bit and it'll be my third purple.

I started it ages ago, but thought I'd never be able to finish because the maps were quiet enough I couldn't get the big bosses at the end of the event chains. That all changed with return to season 3.

Maybe I can get Vision done too before EoD... (but oh gosh not looking forward to the episode 6 story achievements)

I  crafted Astralaria last Friday 😄 It felt good! Now I have to start working on Aurora, but I seeing 0 mystic coins and 0 mystic clovers in my account is pretty sad!

Congrats on your accomplishments!

Btw, I love the positivity in your post. It's not common to see positive content around here 🙂 Thanks!

I felt that it was over due. There is some saltiness going around in regards to the new especs, and what people expect to be receiving. So I figured a feel good thread would help some people out.

Edit: Congrats to you as well 😀

I both took and defended SMC for the first time. As a predominantly PvE player who mostly sticks to the borderlands when in WvW, that was the first time attacking the castle. Also reached 600 dolyaks...only 1900 to go...woot?

I have what I need for more legendaries, just waiting to see what the new elites use.

Oh man I remember taking SMC for the first time back before the Megaservers. I'm on IoJ, and ANY time that we got SMC back then during NA East coast prime time was a big deal.

Taking SMC still feels good.

My current big goal is to get the legendary WvW backpack. I'm not a fan of the skin but I have a tendency to hoard exotic and ascended backpacks "just in case" I need them so I decided when the armoury came out that would actually be useful for me.

That basically amounts to lots of time in WvW and while I enjoy playing it in short bursts to actually make progress you need to play a lot in the same week (ideally every week) and I get fed up with that so I'm alternating with other things. Either relatively short goals like unlocking skins I already have the stuff for and just never picked up, replaying storylines or just playing one of my low level characters, in theory levelling them up but ideally forgetting about that and just exploring the map.

Oh, and I recently made a new character who was nominally a key runner in that when I finished the level 10 story but in the meantime I was playing her like I did when I was new, even taking some time to try to climb the Western Divinity Dam just because I spent ages on that when I first started. That reminded me to go back with the skyscale to see if I could actually get up there (did you know skyscales can cling to some invisible walls?) and I discovered that parts of it are actually right at the very edge of the map - not just the part you're allowed to access but the actual edge of the box. (You can tell because as you slide along the invisible wall your character kind of judders side to side instead of sliding smoothly.) Ultimately it was pointless, but I had fun trying.

Not so much proud as relieved it's over, but I finally finished the "Champions" Mastery achievement over the weekend. If the DRMs had been spread out, it might not have been as rough, but all at once like that was a doozy.

Other than that, I guess I've mostly been slowly progressing toward parts of purple armors since coming back from an extended (almost a year?) break from the game last month. I've been doing a fair bit of PvP to try to get ascended shards of glory (less than 150 pips from being able to craft my chest piece) and running around HoT maps to finish Gifts of Dedication and grab Provisioner Tokens once a day, because I decided that I'd use a different method for each of the three armor weights (WvW medium is already done) for the sake of variety/"the experience."

I think what I'm most proud of recently, though, is coaxing myself back into/through my first raid wing since the break put me back on the wrong side of all of the anxiety I'd fought through to dive into them the first time. It was just Wing 1, and I was super rusty, but it's at least a first step back up that hill. (Fortunately I'd pretty much just done wings 1-3 before my break, so at least I don't have far to go before I'm back where I was, I guess.)

I got so bored with the lack of content that I decided to create HOPE from scratch, even though I don't particularly like the skin nor the footfalls. The journey was tons of fun, though, and it turned out I liked the skin better than I had anticipated. 😆

Today, I bought the precursor for Quip and created the Legendary. Much cheaper than buying the finished weapon from the TP. (One of the most ridiculous skins out there, but that's not why I got it. 😉 )

Now I have a full legendary armory with only a second dagger (and perhaps a second staff) missing. I'll use the EoD precursor for that.

P.S. Not sure that's something to be "proud of", it's just what has kept me busy in-game these past two weeks.

Just finished Chuka and Champawat on Tuesday.  First legendary, so I'm having fun with that, and enjoyed the storyline with it.  Also feeling that void of ok I did that, now what haha!   Finishing up the Wayfarer's Henge since the living world maps are quite active currently.  Nice question by the way!

Just need skirmish tickets to finish legendary armor (will be done early next month I think)

just need clovers for Aurora

wanna get two of the aesthetic infusions

Also wanna do coalescence, but that might be a pipe dream

i would LIKE to finish Bolt before then, too, but the priority in clovers/coins will be to the Gen 3 Legendary Staff (concept art looks very close to the spear an OC of mine uses)

Thanks! It always feels nice to share with people the cool things we do in games. That and to give each other the well deserved pats on the back.
