Bots and MMR ruining PVP which was huge piece of this game

Hello, I'm currently begging you guys to rework the pvp reward system or availability to stop botting in pvp and stop players from ruining pvp. Pvp has been a huge cornerstone of this game since GW1. It has always been seen as competitive and well made. The current state of pvp is horrible, there is a black hole you can find yourself in where the mmr absolutely destroys your chances of getting ahead in the pvp system, and getting teamed with bots and other afkers will keep you down in the lower tier leagues and will make you have a terrible experience. Im begging that you find a way to prioritize winning in a more productive way or actually look into botting issues by not allowing f2p accounts from playing pvp or anything else. Please, the pvp community that loves the game is absolutely desperate for some changes and I would love to continue enjoying this game, but the most enjoyable part for a lot of people is being ruined by just giving yourself up to luck or having to adopt a mentality of not caring. This MMO can seriously be the best games around right now if the pvp system gets reworked to help actual people playing and trying. There arent many games that are good out right now and people are desperate for a good game. Small changes like this could seriously retain players from going to other games or constantly looking for the next game and hoping this one will become something its not. PLEASE help. I love Guild Wars and would love to see some positive changes in a seemingly deteriorating system. Thanks for your time and please send this to anyone who will be able to do something about it. The developers need to hear how the community feels about this. PLEASE, we are begging... I AM BEGGING.

Also the only way to solve bots is to have a population large enough to make boting negligible, the reason why you feel it so much is due to a low pvp population. Every game has bots even single player game's have auto trainers in some cases.

 

They should allow f2p account to play they should just increase the pvp lvl to enter into playing ranked from 20 to 50 or something, I'd like 80 but population is so small that would backfire hard.

Increasing the level to play sounds good in theory. Problem is that these are bots we're talking about. Even level 80 would be ~2 days tops of 24 hour grinding. Bots don't need to take breaks, so they can blitz past whatever level requirement you set. 

 

We can't expect Anet to catch every bot, that much is understandable, but they should help us help them. Give us a report option specifically for botting. If one person is wracking up an unusual amount of reports, the devs can then look at the play history of the account. 

 

• Is that player playing an unusually high number of ranked games?
• Does this player go on long streaks of game time with no breaks to eat or sleep?

 

If both of these are true, there's a good chance you've got a bot on your hands...

 

If they want to play it safe, a GM could message the player at a random time to verify that there is a human behind it. Give them an hour or so to respond just in case they're a real player who's simply focused on the game. If no response is given, that can be taken as further evidence. 

 

It's just a question of whether Anet is willing to devote the man power towards the task or not.

MMR definitely suxs, been for long. Was plat 1 and now close to entering silver. I just don't get it. Im so frustrated about current MMR, never been this bad. Losing 9 games in a row, being matched with players, respectfully, are much less experienced and die mid saying "fight on node noobs" and AFK or keep feeding into lost fights.

This needs to change.

I would rather have matchmaking change than balance right now.

Had the same experience. On the other hand i dont jump on the everything is imbalanced and unfair train because the entire community suffers the same kitten.

Well, partially you are right.

But yesterday when I was SoloQ'ing (and dropped to bottom of Gold 1, mind you) I was matched against a DuoQ which 1 of them was plat 1. This goes to show the matchmaking is not working. This is besides the balance. Balance just makes it worse since generally a plat rotates better than a gold one, in theory.

 

I do not necessarily have issues facing DuoQ. Well, I kind of do because matchmaking is not working correctly in that matter. But facing other divisions shouldn't happen for anyone. I understand Legendary ranked players are facing plats since there's only a handful Legendary but plat 1 vs gold 1 should just not happen, no matter the time. I would rather wait 15mins for queue pop instead of the matchmaker keeps broaden its pool.

 

I'm also "lucky" 2 people decided to DC so our team did not lose rating in 2 matches. But losing 9 matches from which most of them were blowouts, just isn't working and not motivating.

I would rather have a team but ye, teamwork is not allowed in PvP since they removed 5 player queue.

There was always bots, the reason you're seeing them so often now is because the player pool is that small.

10 placement games. 45 teammates. At least 10 bots. Multiple games with multiple bots on my team alone.

 

Anet has done nothing to actually incentivize actually playing.

 

Remove rewards from sPvP.

Why would you punish the PvP players? What makes you think that's a good idea? PvP is just another cornerstone of the game, just like PvE and WvW are (theoratically speaking)

PvP population wasn't that big to begin with tbh, the problem now is how is ANET gonna get more players into the game when conquest is such a garbage game mode.

 

Advertising 2v2, 3v3 and making that the main mode might be the best thing to do but ANET has already done bad decisions that gravely hurt it's reputation in the past. It's not fun anymore because ANET will find a way to ruin something great.

Please you act like they'd actually consider doing that. This game mode's community has always been playing this tug of war about removing rewards or keeping them because it attracts bots or attract PVE heroes. I honestly don't care tbh, I think the rewards shouldn't be touched.
