Let Us Wildly Speculate About the New Guard Spec

From the three xpecs, the last two ones seems to be a bit pvp oriented with all that mobility (cornerstone mode where?). I'm not a fan of the Necro thematic from what has been seen, but watching at this video I'm 100% playing Guardian again. This xpec will be amazing for roaming and dueling.

i mean, all guard specs are still usable in wvw somehow... depending on its mechanics, this one might be as well. if the sword is offhand of any freaking use, that surely is another point. it's not very imporant tho, same as pistol matters not for new necro. only the elite specs skill tree will really matter.

Also lmao, looks like they getting a lot of mobility, this spec is gonna be lit!

What a nightmare, though, don't you agree? WvW filled with characters wildly "bouncing here and there and everywhere." Wait a minute! What does that remind me of again? Hmmm...

Looks like possible change to auto chain? Looks like main hand, off hand and then both for the 3rd auto attack chain? Is it possible we see changes to the other main hand sword skills if this is the case? I wonder if the mobility we are seeing is weapon, virtues or utility based? I also wonder if they are targeted skills like JI and sword #2? Or will these be like warrior rush skills? If they are it would be a nice upgrade in roaming ability that doesn't depend on trapper runes for kiting and disengaging ability.

Right now other than F2 DH doesn't get anything core guard doesn't in the mobility area and everything else is targeted, so DH has good burst CHASE ability but long CD and with the massive reduction in ambient creatures in WvW using this to disengage is extremely circumstantial. At least to me this is one of the bigger things I notice going from thief/ranger/engi to DH is the lack of swiftness or directional/ground targeted mobility skills. Not saying DH needs this, I think it needs something but only if trapper runes are removed, you can't do anything here so long as they remains because it's mobility would be totally broken with trapper runes....Can we please just nerf the stealth/superspeed part of this already or remove it? I feel like trapper runes are keeping anything good from happening with DH.

Hard to tell but the port at the 0:22 mark looks like maybe a F2 replacement? Rather than a leap with a heal it's a port with a fire field? Or maybe they are comboing? Because it also looks to have some kind of block as well but maybe this is a combo F2-F3? Or maybe if I am right about the changed MH auto chain and they changed the MH skills as well and #2 is no longer a light field but a fire field? I don't think it is because the MH sword disappears when the animation starts and doesn't come back until after the full cast making me think it's a virtue skill. And the other rushing animations are new utility skills

I am probably way off here.

I think the context is more interesting than the details so far. All three builds revealed so far seem to go for relatively mobile focused power damage primarily. I had a chat with some guild mates about this the other day, but it begs the question if they are going for a unison theme (ie., the expac will have focus/mobility encouraging content), if they are going for gap fillers in classes' game (ie., lumbering classes getting a speed spec) or if they are looking to cover gaps in certain types of content (ie., all of this expac's specs are geared towards balancing out small scale roaming, or w/e).

As far as Will Bender (Bend?) goes, it is going to be interesting to see the mechanics tonight because the class sits in a rather odd place of already having some port-to-target type of skills to crush distance but still remains somewhat lumbering overall or if you build that way you do not really have the other sides of it to sustain that type of playstyle very well. Just having more of those mechanics ontop could mean little to nothing. So, if they're going for more mobility I hope they consider more overall/flexible approaches to mobility or if they are going for a type of chasing specialist it will be interesting to see what kind of package it comes in then.
